Early last year, deep in the forests of northern British Columbia, workers for Apache Corp. performed what the company proclaimed was the biggest hydraulic fracturing operation ever.

The project used 259 million gallons of water and 50,000 tons of sand to frack 16 gas wells side by side. It was "nearly four times larger than any project of its nature in North America," Apache boasted.

I am posting this in the Intro thread because I have less than 20 posts, however I have been a reader of these forums for a few years. Mods, please move to Fragile Earth or delete if you wish. I did a search and couldn't find anything.

With all the talk of fracking in the US, I came across this article about how fracking is really picking up in Canada as well. BC and Alberta seem to be welcoming these companies with open arms.

Hi Matt, welcome. I wasn't aware of the enormity of BC's fracking. I'm also concerned about the amount that will be going on in NB.
