PPP Polls: 24% = Iowa Frontrunner, Crazy uncle Ron is gunning for the Oval Office!

First they ignored him

Then they said he had no chance

Then they said he has 'ceilings'

After breaking several of those 'unbreakable ceilings' he is a top tier candidate

Now they're saying if he wins Iowa, the whole caucus is discredited.

What will they say when he wins the GOP nomination? the electoral college is a scam?

Historiacally, GOP candidates that win Iowa have an over 60% chance to winning the GOP nomination.

Ron has the enthusiasm, the message, the national organization, the fundraising to win not only Iowa but New Hampshire, snowballing into the perfect storm for a GOP win and an EASY victory against Obama.

One of the stats in the poll that I find interesting, is Paul's support from 18 to 29. He has 37%, while the next candidate has a high of 11% in that age group. Age 30 to 45 is pretty similar. 34% for Paul, and Bachmann has the next highest at 15%. Romney looks like hes getting the older voters, especially older than 65.

The best thing about this is that it shows that people are waking up - especially young people. You know - the ones that don't get their news from the MSM but from this newfangled invention called the internet.

Another thing, with the attacks against Paul recently, his numbers havent taken a hit. I do wonder, depending on how well Paul does in Iowa, what will happen to his numbers in NH?

I've already committed my vote and efforts, win or lose.

I couldn't care less about picking a winner, this isn't a horse race.

Doesn't matter to me if he stands a chance or not.
There's no one else I want to vote for, and at least by voting for him I can stand with others that feel the same about things like the drug war, the fed, freedom, and property rights.

And I'm getting tired of being called names because of the political position that I take. SO WHAT if I am a conspiracy theorist, racist, fringe, paul bot, paul bearer, druggie, idiot, alien, vote waster, or whatever else the control freaks in the republican party want to call me. Yeah, they are really winning my support like that. Same goes for liberals.

Even if I were all of those things, or any one of them, I'm STILL a citizen, and one that has paid taxes since I was 15 years old. I'm still a veteran. I'm still a property owner and parent. I STILL deserve representation.

Maybe the point isn't whether he stands a chance or not - but that people seem to be paying attention to the farce that is our government. Credit OWS, the huge number of unemployed with alot of time on their hands or just the real time "pissed offedness" of the American people. REAL change will be tough - I agree. Moving the stones at Stonehenge singlehandedly seems easier - but it has to start somewhere.

You know posting against RP on ATS is like trying to not get moved by tidal wave when your standing on the beach and the wave comes in, you ain't winning this. Not on this site. Maybe on the Huff or Redstate but not here, and certainly not this election cycle.

what concerns me is the high rate of seniors who support romney. babyboomers are a very high number of voters in this country, and one of the few "blocks" of people who actually do feel that voting is important. What is romney saying/doing to cause this support for seniors? Doesnt matter tho, I warned members of aarp about obama, and they supported him anyway.

I'm not trying to "win" anything.

I think some of the moderators that have spoken on RP are correct. A lot of his followers are young and naive and like those that followed Obama, they're going to be really disappointed. Give it time.

Saying young people are naive is really.. naive.
I am in that age bracket and i am by no means naive, but i am an outsider looking in. I speak for myself, and i hope paul wins for you guys. Because out of all of them (yes, i pay attention to the US elections), he seems to be the most truthful, and he wants to be an independent, but he would never win that way. Hence repub.

Name another libertarian and constitutionalist running for pres right now.

And i have seen many naive people in all of those other age brackets too. age=/=maturity.
And he's the only one addressing some issues other candidates wont touch.

Seems voteworthy, voting for the 'winner' gets you no-where.

Well said on both points. I'll address mainly the latter - I will always support a person who I feel adequately represents my own concerns and appears to reflect a historical and common-sense understanding of the main issues we're facing.

No more lesser of two evils for me (as the devil I know may likely be better than the devil I don't - especially when there seems no significant disagreement between the two), and I will now support principles over party any day.

What's really amusing to me is the young people as well, voting for someone who speaks to them.
Jack layton who ran for the NDP here in canada said "Nothing will change until our young people want change", and that spreads out everywhere. (Too bad NDP didnt win, close.. but now we have harper)

Usually young people do not vote often enough for it to make a difference, perhaps RP is mobilizing the quiet army of voters. Seems to be heading that way, guess the young people want change.

thats awesome Presidente, I feel the same way. Mainstream repubs will pick someone like Romney, who they think is a winner, but I want someone I think can fix this country. Thats why my vote and efforts will go for Ron Paul.

Nitpicking what some moderators said to prove your point like their 'opinion' makes your 'opinion' valid?

That was a pretty sad attempt to save your argument...

Why? because I could bring up an equal amount of moderators that support Ron Paul, hell even the site owner made it very clear. But that doesn't prove anything, their opinions are theirs and they write them with no authority just like the rest of us. It is their opinion and I wouldn't even attempt to use their 'status' to validate my opinions.
