Ruger SR9 or SR9c(compact). It's a 9mm polymer frame handgun with a 17 round capacity. EXTREMELY accurate and reliable. My favorite 9mm pistol to date. It's also very affordable. at 300-400 bucks.

Thanks for the suggestion, projectvxn. I've researched it a little, and it does seem to be a pretty good all around handgun. I've read they're common for C&C as well. Again, thanks for the heads up. I just might have myself one of these real soon

I can't help but wonder how many were sold as part of a batf operation again. I must say I am surprised to hear of a Wally world selling Ar's. Made in China I wonder?

I can only talk for what I have seen going on in my neck of the woods in Ga, most of the people that are buying guns and collecting them are more into the believes that our nations government overall is not longer to be trusted.

That and more is what I get around in my neck of the woods, even my husband's friends that are gun "collectors" are advising him to make sure that he buys enought ammo just in case.

While just about every gun ever made can be had "made in China" their are none imported into the US.

Maybe I'm not the "normal" gun buyer. I gave my wife a Remington 870 20ga shot gun for Christmas along with a target thrower, some clays & some rounds. Why? For sport only. We were out in the back yard on the 25th trying it out & not the only ones in our neighborhood firing that day.

Well, believe what you will, but why did Americans give or buy someone a gun for Christmas intead of a veggiematic or another neck tie.... ?

The Economy....Pres. Obama... Crime... anticipation of a class war or race war... Civil War.

Folks, I manage a feed and farm supply store. Just passing and working and listening to them, I hear talk that would alarm the TSA, FBI, DHS... People here in rural NC... black and white do not like Mr. Obama...utterlly do not like nor trust that man. He runs against everything they hold dear... freedom, Constitution, individual freedoms, taxes, debt, ... and many here really do wonder if he is the anti-christ.

Believe it or not, around here we really do have black rednecks, as well as the white redneck... and we have horse owners and farmers... everybody is disgusted by high feed prices, high steel prices that run up the costs of gates, fencing, implements... they are disgusdted with the TSA searching their grandma flying in from outta state... they are disgusted with NAFTA, lack of protecting borders, laws not being enforced, crime, OWS...

We sold gun safes at about 2-3 everyday between Thanksgiving and Xmas... some folks bought 2 at a time.....

The greatest fear my customers have is Obama getting re-elected. Everybody is abiding by the law, they are doing what they are supposed to be doing as citizens... but if for any reason the election is delayed or canceled or Obama's re=election looks fixed.

I've been buying guns pretty regularly for about 30 years now. I average two or three a year.

I buy them because I see a good deal or because I tried one out and liked it or because I saw it and just had to have it.

Only once did I buy a gun for "political" reasons and was when I moved from an AWB state to a non-AWB state and I could finally buy it. On second thought I didnt buy it for political reasons. I was prohibited from buying it for so long because of political reasons.

I dont buy them because of the end of the world. I dont buy them because some politician wants to take them away. I dont buy them because I fear my neighbors, the feds or red China. I buy them because I like them. I like them a lot.
