Teaching English, etc. Business Through Indoctrination?

ATS is composed of many people from all walks of life. Some taught English, some learned. Just like with everything in life, there are good teachers and there are terrible teachers. What's your experience with the field of teaching? What would you change, what would you leave as it is? Clearly, people on a conspiracy site such as this one can discern a discrepancy between what is taught and what is actually happening. Give us your examples, real-life examples of how children are indoctrinated, or - perhaps - you feel this isn't the case at all.
