Hello ATS. I hope everyone is having a fun holiday weekend. I have a video that I saw on youtube a few weeks ago and it has been on my mind a lot. So I thought I would share this with you. I did not shoot the vid myself.

It is from the OWS protests in Portland, Oregon.

What is very strange is that there were so many people there and no one seemed to notice it fly right over there heads. I am not implying that this is little green men, my hunch is that this is a highly advance drone being used by some agency.

I would like any thoughts on what this could be. Kinda scary. I have a hard time believing it could shoot by over everyone like that and no one sees it. Has the government possible perfected a kind of mind control device that can be used to cloak their tech? You have to wonder when you see something like this.

Thanks for taking the time to check this out.

My guess is some kind of radio controlled device. If you actually look carefully at the video, there are 2, one (bright) in the foreground 1st, then just as the camera starts to pan left, another fainter one in the distance/background.

if that is a radio controlled device, it is super fast, silent, and not something you could waltz into a hobby store and buy. It would be very expensive.

Fair enough, it rules out something like this then

It's weird that there are 2 though which could possibly mean one of 2 things. law enforcement expensive versions or CGI. Just trying to think logically.

ETA Linked video is one Occupy used in Poland somewhere.

I think that its more along the lines of something like this with added lights .

It is fast, but not much use as surveillance at that sort of speed though. Not any noticeable light modulation either.

I don't think it's a surveillance drone, it's too low.
My first thought was cgi because it just didnt look right flying by, very fast.

Either cgi or quadrocopter type device being used by someone...

The fact that noone notices this flying right over their head is a clear indication nothing is actually there, making CGI likely.

at 2:19 there seems to be a person, perhaps a cop, who walks by wearing what looks like a yellow jacket with a type of light source on his head. Like a miners hat/helmet.
So because the colors are the same as these objects in question, I wonder if it's related somehow

CGI? Why? Why would he do that?

I couldn't even begin to understand why someone would do that in such a low-scale and subtle fashion. I mean if you're hoping to hoodwink the masses, wouldn't you go bigger? And bolder? and badder? What the heck is there to gain by him inserting this miniscule 'thing' into his video?
It would've been hardly worth his effort.

wow something ELSE to make OWS look .. um.. completely incompetent...

yeh.. it's a remote controlled flying device you can buy at any hobby shop. we use them here and actually attatch cameras to do music videos etc...

it's a common 'party favor' used when attatching neon lights during festivals and raves also...

this is just.. imo... embarrassing...

This might help explain what we are seeing..

Blog is from Nov. 23rd..so it could be up and running now..

Tim Pool. He packs a smartphone with unlimited data, a copy of Ustream's mobile video streaming app, and a battery pack to keep it all going — which he has for 21 hours straight, on big news days. Soon, Tim and team plan to have have their own hacker-made flying camera-drones, to provide aerial footage TV news chopppers can't. The guerrilla web stream "The Other 99" has reached more than 2 million unique viewers over the last two months, and become a source of eyes on the ground unmatched by big media. The project runs solely on donations. Is The Other 99's webcast the start of a new news normal, and could Pool be one of many DIY backpack broadcasters to come? I tracked him down in New York between streams to find out what he thinks, and how and why he does what he does. — XJ

boingboing.net...

Xeni Jardin: What's this I hear about you guys building a drone to compete with the TV news choppers?

Tim Pool: Well, everyone's seen that Polish video, the "Robokopter," right? We got lot of emails from people saying, "Why don’t you guys use an aerial drone to get overhead shots?," and it was really interesting to see all these coming at the same time. Someone actually donated, just a few days ago, $500 towards the purchase of the AR.Drone toy from Walmart. But it can’t stream and it can’t broadcast the video to a computer in which I could do a desktop capture. So I spoke with Geoff Shively, and he said, we have got plans for a hack that’s going to make this essentially the most badass drone— "The SkyWitness," is what he calls it. But it’s going to be able to travel between wave points, so that I can send it to Henry based on whatever signals he is using, get an aerial overhead to fly over Zuccotti park. I think Geoff may build it with Noisebridge and with help from other hackerspaces. It looks like we are going to have a drone soon with an aerial camera to add to the mix

THIS makes more sense than it being CGI'd.
