Yes, Ron Paul wants to challenge the MIC and the banking sector by removing government regulations and allowing them to regulate themselves...

...those Austrian School of Economics/Rand/Objectivist disciples, such as Ron has made it clear previously that he is, are such challenging rouges against global corporate power...they challenge them by giving them all the power.

all people have a responsibility of regulating themselves and not getting bailed out by the government when they fail. Ron Paul would get rid of all unconstitutional regulation which includes bail outs. I think you forgot to mention that

There is no such thing as a good president in this day and age. The last good president was Andrew Jackson and he died 200 years ago, so that tells ya something.

All people ARE responsible for regulating themselves, but what recourse does the citizenry have when those amongst it, with the most money and power and thus influence, refuse to do so and, instead, use that money, power and influence for their own benefit to the detrement of all others?

To quote Federalist 51;

" If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the next place oblige it to control itself."

As much as there must be a balance of power within our political system, so should there be a balance of power between the private and public spheres. Right now, the Private sphere holds nearly all the cards and it will be someone, in my opinion, like Paul who will be handing global corporations the keys to the nation, if not the world, and walking away to leave us all to dangle in the breeze.

"Personal Responsibility" is a great talking point...but it is not enough in the age of Globalism.
