Who's knows the most about whom?

Ok. I have noticed over the years that people are always accusing Americans of being clueless about the rest of the world.
This argument comes up from time to time in all forums both here and on the rest of the net and media.

So i thought it might be interesting to give everyone the chance to prove one another wrong

No fighting please, this is intended to be all in good fun, a bit of harmless poking of one another.

So lets get this party started.

Without the use of google (or any other search engine, yes there are others hehe) state all that you know of a country that is not your own, be it America, Australia, England or one of those other colourful little shapes on my inflatable globe.

I'm the speaker on this one (to use a parlimentary expression) so i will choose not to get involved in this debate.

Have fun and play nice, we are far more civilized then our leaders so lets prove it.

Not all but the general population of the USA are very much clueless as to whats really going on in the world. Just watching the display of the coming Police state in the USA alone and barely any Americans doing anything about it, should I say more? Perhaps the Americans want to a facist nation and don't mind giving up all their rights. Either they don't care or they are too fearful so they target those even more vulnerable than they are. Careful though, you may end up becoming one of them too.

I know small little bits about a dozen countries, especially Canada, but nothing in depth.

I think we can take it as a given that Americans don't know much in detail about other countries. But I have two questions back. 1) Is that a bad thing? Most Americans don't know how to play the tuba, but find they can get along without it. 2) Why is global knowledge expected of us when we don't learn history, philosophy, economics, or other vital subjects?

Learning for the sake of learning is not our main educational goal. Knowing about Bolivia, Brazil, or Belgium does not serve a practical goal. So there is no reason to learn it.

I have a theory on this.

I would say that Americans in Central America aren't 'quite' as clued up as their counter parts that live on either coast.

This is not a slight on Americans as I am married to one. The further from the coast you are, the less concerned you are about what goes on across it.
