Use the moon to move the Earth?

You know all that equal and opposite reaction. As the Moon is always facing us in the same rotation, one device could be placed right in the middle and with some kind of attatchments around the world, we could use the Moon to move the Earth. We need some kind of gravity beam, I will set out forthwith to make one,lol.

I wont even address any issues... but indulge me, how do you plan do use the moon to move the earth? I mean... how does it really work..

Attachments around the world? I hope you are not thinking of tying the Earth to the moon. Why would you even want to move Earth, what good would it do moving out of the habitable zone of the sun? I am confused.

BTW, the aliens turned the moon around, after the galactic war, to save the planet from the lava that was spewing the earth's atmosphere, after the other guys bombed it, creating a volcanic eruption. That's a fact!

i had a similar idea.. one where you attached a cable to the moon and used it to yoyo a space station to and fro to the moon ..

Of course you could use the moon to move the earth........the gravitational effect of bodies on each other can make substantial changes to their motion - comets for example, or how we discovered Neptune (which perhaps wasn't so major...).

But to get it to do something other than it is doign right now you'd have to move the moon first, and while it might be smaller than the earth, it ain't a speck of dust!

so I imagine if you wanted to pull the earth further from the sun you'd move the moon to a position just ahead of the earth in its orbit, thus speeding the earth up in its orbit, which would then move it further from the sun.

Or to move closer to the sun put the moon just "behind" the earth - slowing it down.

But I think it is much easier to say than do!!

They can already do that with Cern. It has a huge infastructure spanning nations, and looks like it has a motor. I've been told they can steer earth with it if they wish, and possibly even tip it.
