Let me state for the record that FEMA is moving ahead with plans to create temporary cities that could handle millions of Americans after mass destruction attacks on U.S. cities.

Though the agency has denied the program to some of our readers and has made misleading claims about NewsMaxs original story to members of the press, the basic facts of the story remain unchallenged.

In early July, NewsMax first reported in our e-mail news service, Insider Report, the story "FEMA Preparing for Mass Destruction Attacks on Cities," revealing that FEMA was seeking bids from three major real estate and/or engineering firms to help prepare for the creation of the emergency cities, using tents and trailers if an urban area is attacked by NBC (nuclear, chemical or biological) weapons.

Thanks for the article. FEMA has been rumored to have all kinds of crazy plans, from underground city like complexes, to these plans for temporary cities. Doesn't surprise me at all if is was 100% true.

This is exactly waht FEMA is for. If they did not plan and the S*&^ hit the fan, we would be pissed that they were not prepared. There are alot of questions about FEMA that I would like answered, but the planning for civil disasters is in our best interests.

Exactly Fred

Everyone here freaks out that they have these things, but what happens if a biological weapon were unleashed on a city? Where would those people go?

This is jusy prudent planning and a case of the government actually doing it's job

We will survive anything that's our human nature we are just part of the animal kingdom if we have a massive disaster we will go back to our natural instinct of survival and we will disregard anything else including government in the survival of our species is very elementary, building cities or such is just for the few, get it people it is just for the rich and wealthy the regular Joe will be out there to defense for ourselves.

Exactly why an organizing team like FEMA is needed. Not many people could handle the survival instinct and there would be mass bloodshed for quite awhile until people learned to live and work together under a different society -- one where the dollar might very well be worthless. Remember bartering? The majority of people are resistant to change. They will fight to maintain their status quo even if it is contrary to their survival. Their reluctance to adapt will lead to dispute and death.

... Not to mention: all skinny smart people would be slaughtered by the dumb fatties and the human race would evolve to be larger and dumber for generations to come!
