As a Non-American i would be interested how our US friends on ATS rate President Obama. Where does he sit in your opinion? Is he one of the better or worst Presidents of The US. If you think he is "Good" then why? The same question if he is thought as being not so good.
During his election campaign voters in The US where raving about him. Has their opinions changed now he is in office?

Personally, hes horrible. during the election, people just voted for him thinking that hes cool and thinking they were gonna get all this free stuff. If your into being a welfare state like europe, then i could see why you like him but other than that i think he has completely failed. I cant wait for the presidential debate, i feel like hes gonna get ripped on left and rght

I was not liking him but am now on the fence on that. I just can`t judge the man when Congress has stopped him from doing the right things in my opinion. It is all about money with these idiots and they are the thorn that needs removed.

I just can`t blame the puppet when it`s way more involved. Wouldn't matter who was in office.

If you love and support America - Bad
If you love and support an attempt at corrupt socialism - Good

Guess it depends on what want or like in life

Sorry to interject (as a non American) but I think Obama will be historically the most important president of the US. in history. I had a blog in 2008 where I supported Obama as possibly the greatest possibility for unifying the United States in its diversity but I also believed that the presidency was merely a window dressing for a government that merely required popular opinion to ease its agenda through the media. I said then and was criticised for it, that Obama would be the greatest gift to the Republican party ever because once in office he would realise quickly how impotent and powerless the office of the presidency actually is.

I believe that Obama is a good man who now knows that idealism and power is contained within the pyramid, not in the golden tip.

He will be most important because under his presidency more people will wake up to the reality of politics than ever before.
Smoke and mirrors, bread and circuses
Obama will probably be the last freely elected president ever.
Yes We Can! (change the golden tip of the pyramid)

Sorry but as a non-american what you said is almost meaningless. How can you have an informed and accurate view of the way a country is ran with out having to live with Obama's "Change"?

At first I was going to say "He is the worst President I've ever known" but then I think that, more correctly, I should say, "This is the worst Presidency there's ever been" because him Like 'W' are controlled puppets, I very much believe.
Right now we have:

TSA who can do anything to you. Even Jesse Ventura was told by a judge to get lost.

'Fast And Furious' The Federal drug trafficking scandal

SWAT raids on organic picnics, raw milk, and the Amish.

The continuation of The Project for A New American Century wars of aggression preceded with the "weapons of mass destruction" propaganda lies over again.

Continuation of detention and torture

Detainment camp things going on.

There's more, but I'd like to throw this up here just for now.

Really well said.

I think Obama was good and bad. He had a lot of great ideas and good plans, but he was ineffective in achieving his goals, mostly because the office of the president doesn't have the power we think it does and secondly, because he tried to be centrist and please everyone. He WANTED to bring the parties together and let that ideology get in his way of accomplishing what he was elected to do. He ended up passing compromised legislation that satisfied no one in his voting base. He was voted in by Democrats and Liberals and then tried to please everyone and failed at both.

If he had made great progress toward ending the war, stopping marriage discrimination, ending lobbying, national health care, investigating George Bush and 9/11, closing Guantanmo, he'd be a very popular president this election. As it is, his loyal voters are looking elsewhere.

Obama isn't evil or even particularly dangerous. He's a very smart man with a lot of good ideas, but I don't think he knew what he was getting into, frankly. I wouldn't mind if he would be given another term, but he'd have to work differently for me to be happy. If Ron Paul's name is anywhere on the ballot, I don't know yet which name I'd choose.

He has sole authority to stop the murdering of the citizens of sovereign nations. That is his decision, and his alone. He is an execrable sub-human.

Moratorium on American off-shore drilling while taxpayer monies went to the Brazilian national oil company Petrobas

taxpayer baillout of Sharia compliant AIG insurance (oh wait that was Bush, but it was the Democrat Congress)

takeover of the auto industry

nationalization of the healthcare system and forced commerce plus higher premiums and higher cost of care with penalties for non purchase of insurance enforced by the IRS

passing bills without reading(oh wait Bush did that too)

Executive Order granting immunities to Interpol pjmedia.com...

OH yah I nearly forgot: assassination of an American citizen abroad

Lets not forget the war that's still raging on in two countries even though we've been told we're pulling out several times during this presidency alone.

The stalement in multiple U.S.-Foreign relations that have been more rapidly declining since his time in office.

Not to mention his lack of activity in seeking resolution to the worst financial crisis in the last 80 years.

President Obama. Not good. Not bad. I honestly believe he's doing the best job that he can. That doesn't mean I have any intention of voting for him again.

He is a banker puppet. During his campaign, he talked about greed and corruption on Wall Street causing the financial collapse. What did he do when elected? Appointed 11 Goldman Sachs employees to his Administration, didn't prosecute any of those responsible for the economic collapse, and put in some half-assed regulations.

But hey, at least he continued the wars in the Middle East and in fact entered more wars when he campaigned about bringing the troops home. Plus he renewed the Patriot Act, so that with his undeclared wars assures me that he has no respect for the Constitution that he swore an oath to protect and defend.

Seeing Obama bumper stickers makes me want to cry.

Bad.

Anyone who openly states that he wants to "fundamentally transform America" isn't going to be good for our republic.

i see you became a member in 2011. were you lurking at ATS before you were a member? seeing as how you are posing the question in your original post i'm thinking you definitely were not here during last american presidential election time. just wait until 2012 election. oh boy, ATS is not going to be a fun place, it never is when people can't contain themselves! you'll get what i mean then, and as an answer to your original post, you'll see ATS contains people pro-obama and anti-obama as well as in between. all walks of life, though the extreme ends tend to talk much louder as i mentioned.

To be fair here, since Carter, the Presidency has been controlled by the CFR and the TC. That is being still a little judicious, as things were going sour when JFK was assassinated.

I think the sour concept may possibly be a matter of opinion to an extent, there certainly were not as many "corruptions" as they were now, even back when Bush Sr. was in office. I think it's a matter of the voters now are looking more at the "fresh look" rather than the experienced candidate. Obama is case in point.
