About 5 years ago, I remember everyone in Southern Ohio being paranoid to drive late at night. A gang used to initiate new members by having them get people to pull off the side of the road and then killing them. They would always do this by tailgating you and flashing their headlights on and off like it was an emergency.
Sad, but boy did I have fun with this at the time with my g/f back then. I would call her around 2am saying their's a vehicle behind me flashing his lights. Mean, I know. But trust me, she deserved it at times.
Ohio seems to keep going down the hole every year. In my town alone, it is divided up into 3 sections. Whites, blacks, and mexicans. All at war with each other. It's so bad they have a curfew now. We also can't be in each others sections after that curfew or we get escorted back by police if caught.
What sucks is, when I grew up in the town, it wasn't like that at all. In recent years prostitution has picked up and now boys from Toledo and Dayton (very bad boys) are settling in and the violence is getting even more out of hand. I've already seen quite a few families move out of state because of it, including my own sister.
STOW, OH (WOIO) - A 16-year-old high school student arrested in connection with a Craigslist killing has been charged with one count of attempted murder and one count of complicity to attempted murder. Brogan Rafferty, a student at Stow-Munroe Falls High School remains in police custody this weekend. Court records show Rafferty helped Richard J. Beasley, 52, in connection with the attempted murder. 19 Action News has confirmed that Beasley is in custody at the Summit County Jail, being held on prostitution charges. He hasn't been arrested or charged in connection with this case at this time. The horrific story unfolded in southeastern Ohio earlier this month where a Florida job seeker turned up dead and a South Carolina man was shot while trying to flee the crime scene. The Noble County Sheriff's Department tells 19 Action News that they received a call on November 6th from a resident that a man had been shot. Officials responded to scene and interviewed the shooting victim who said he was shot while responding to a job listing on the popular website Craigslist. He told police that the job listing was for a male to care for cattle on a 688 acre property. The victim, whom police will not identify, says he met up with Rafferty and another man in Marietta, Ohio and followed them to Caldwell, Ohio where he parked his car and rode along with the two suspects to Don Warner Road in Stock Township.
