The Death Gene

They have talked about this gene a lot on Reader's Digest and other magazines.

I don't know what it's called but it was a hard name to pronounce I think.

Anyways after some thinking in bed last night, I came to a conclusion:

I believe the aging gene is their for evoulution. It makes perfect sense too.

It prevent's over-population, diseases from being spread, and it promote development of the human mind.

It's just strange to think that there is a gene that is slowly killing all of us right now.

I don't mind it though. I support the reasons and can you imagine working forever. At one point or another we'll sick of our lives so suicides and murder rates would probably go up. Yep we all have to die for the good of the people!

but im a people too so errr..........i dont wanna die for the people.....so please remove that gene out of me.....

I'm happy that this gene is good. If we removed it earth would already be really overpopulated.

I'm sure there is some trigger that if this gene is overrode it would make you sterile, or something along those lines, just for the sake of stopping overpopulation. Wouldn't bug me to have the thing turned off... sex is nice, but it's such a hassle to be in deep thinking mode and doing research on the net, and all of a sudden you get the urge to go to the bar and make a fool out of yourself with your mating rituals. Plus, I would love to see what earth and it's inhabitants are like in 500 years! Believe me, I wouldn't be wearing yellow-plaid shorts in that time, either... unless it was acceptable, lol.

I'm so totally serious about living forever... I grew up as an only child, and have had enough losses that I think I could cope quite well. When I'm satisfied that I've seen enough, I would have myself frozen and revived in another 500 years... kinda like the elders in Underworld. That would rock, IMHO!

Its widely believed now that you could almost double your life expectancy through Calorific Restriction. A topic first written about some fifty years ago, which has already provided several amazing tests including one where mice given the restricted calorific intake not only outlasted their normal counterparts, but also showed no signs of diabetes compared to the high mortality rate due to diabetes in the control group.
I believe that a there is a study of Rhesus Monkeys that is nearing completion, and a rich businessman that is also involved in the first controlled human tests.
It is thought that heart disease and cancer would also be greatly reduced if not eradicated through a lifetime of severe calorific restriction.

I believe the ratio of extended life is directly proportionate to the reduction in calories. i.e
25% decrease in calories = 25% increase in life expectancy.

This isn't relevant if your already eating double what you should, but rather refers to your RDA
