Sudan, Libya Agree on Political, Economic Integration

The Libyan official, who arrived in Khartoum Friday for a two- day visit, hailed the great role of Sudan in supporting the Libyan revolution in the humanitarian, political and military fields, saying that "we appreciate stances of president al-Bashir in reforming our relations with some neighboring countries."

"If not for Sudanese military assistance, it would not have been possible to liberate Kufra," he said at a conference of Sudan's ruling National Congress Party, referring to a town in Libya's remote southeastern desert.

Very interesting developments a Economic Integration, The Rise or hints of a African Union Spreading ? if so this is very bad for Libyans.

The African Union hasnt helped other African countries i dont see no reason why with Libya and would be any different.

An Economic Integration usual has always failed just take a look at the European union, things will get worse for Libyans.

Could be some changes to the current African Union.

Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, and Libya have gone through leadership/political changes this year.

Mediterranean Union

The Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) is a multilateral partnership that encompasses 43 countries from Europe and the Mediterranean Basin: the 27 member states of the European Union and 16 Mediterranean partner countries from North Africa, the Middle East and the Balkans. It was created in July 2008 as a relaunched Euro-Mediterranean Partnership (the Barcelona Process), when a plan to create an autonomous Mediterranean Union was dropped. The Union has the aim of promoting stability and prosperity throughout the Mediterranean region. Nevertheless, its 2009 and 2010 Summits could not be held due to the stalemate of the Arab-Israeli peace process after the Gaza war.

The Union for the Mediterranean introduced new institutions into the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership with the aim of increasing its visibility such as the creation of a Secretariat.

The Union for the Mediterranean is the southern regional cooperation branch of the European Neighbourhood Policy. Its eastern counterpart is the Eastern Partnership.
