“If a situation develops unfavourably, Russia reserves the right to refuse further steps in disarmament and arms control, respectively, “- said Medvedev in connection with the situation that has evolved around a missile defense system of NATO countries in Europe. He added: “Furthermore, given the inextricable link between strategic offensive and defensive weapons may be reasons to quit the country of the START Treaty. This is provided by the meaning of the contract.”*

This I believe is startling news, with the pushing of propaganda all over western media to demonize Russia due to its relations with Syria and its stronghold as a criticiser of both NATO and western powers. Could this alongside the defence systems that the US have in place around Europe cause a retaliation of a system just like that in Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis? Alongside such motions you have other diplomatic breakdowns just like that between the UK and Russia* in which the military agreements have stopped. Russia of course, with their known power, do intend to react to all of the US’s threats which is shown with the Russians radar stations put onto alert.* Russia unlike places such as Iran and North Korea do indeed have the power to not back down to aggression by the western world.

Could all of this be leading to a second Cold War?

Worse. We're approaching world war 3. Have you noticed how Obama has been very critical of china recently? The biggest enemies in world war 3 will be China, Russia, and the middle east. By doing that the military industrial complex can wipe out their debt and make a fortune off of the war essentially killing two birds with one stone.

I think if that's the case I can't see the west winning. Which is quite unfortunate for me

Not everyone. The military industrial complex will love it.

If what Soviet defectors say is true, the cold war never ended. Russia is just using the veneer of democratic reforms to arm itself in secret and catch the rest of the world by surprise.

The "new cold war" has been here for a while ... and the new enemy of the state is its citizens.

Sorry what exactly is the reason for WW3?

Is the west trying to impose a global government that China, Russia, etc don't want to be a part of? And that is what the war will be about?

I remember hearing something about how the UN loves China because of it's one child policy and a couple of other things which the NWO is all for, and then I hear at the same time that China is who the war will be against

WW3 sounds a bit like it could be similar to the book 1984, three super countries at war with each other keeping the fear and tension high amongst the population. Of course in the book it is implied that there might not even be a real war, but still similar.
