My daughter had just returned home from my parents house and we were sitting in the living room watching the news. On the news the weather was showing red throughout the US. The east coast through Cuba was lite up with red, tornados were hitting the US. The time was not shown or what date it was, but I had the urge to call my Father and ask him what to do. I suddenly woke up to my with the urge to watch the news and hope this really wasn't happening. To my astonishment my husband was just waking up and asking for the remote. He too had a tornado dream. But his dream had a giant tornado crossing from Connecticut to Long Island, NY (where we live). He said that the sound was overpowering.

Has anyone else had a dream last night at 4:45am ET time? It just seems odd to have the same type of dream at the same time and both waking up needing to watch the news. It almost felt like a message, but would love confirmation if anyone else had this experience or has had in the past?

If the sound was overpowering to your husband, could there have been something in your area that is capable of making such a sound that it might incorporate itself into both of your dreams? Did you hear anything?

Strangely I did as well but when outside trying to get a better look there were asteroids coming down too. In my dream it seemed like we were in one of the few safe places but couldn't stay there for long. I am not sure where we were but we were there by chance, like a hotel or just a place you stop in for a little while.

Some say tornadoes in dreams are a sign of up coming chaos or emotional distress. It is the holiday season so that may have something to do with it. I did go outside to look at the skies and all was clear.

I am curious as to why in my dreams a lot of people seem unaware of the events, they just wander around like it is any other day.

That's interesting that you say it was a safe place, but couldn't stay long, and that it was like a hotel or a place you just stop in for a while.

I had a dream about 3 weeks ago, in which I was in what seemed to be a rather large hotel room, with a bunch of people. It was a party of sorts, and there was a full bar in the corner of the room. This was a room that appeared to be on higher level, maybe even a penthouse type.

There was windows all around, and I could see multiple tornados outside. Many that seemingly ran into the building I was in, but there was no shaking and there was no hysteria. Everybody was having a good time, except for me, just looking out the windows, watching all the destruction.

Then! One tornado kinda circled around the building, and I lost sight of it for a second, then all of a sudden I found it again. It was close, very close. Next thing I know, there was the tip of the tornado poking through the wall, and just swirling, so close that I could grab it. As soon as I did go to grab it, and find a better view(at the same time) I woke up.

As far as your dreams, and other people not being aware of the events. That is EXACTLY how it seems in ALL of my dreams. Even when the chaos is right in their face! It's nuts! It's usually when, in my dream, I try and bring it to their attention, is when I wake up. Also, when I find solutions to problems that arrise in my dream is when I wake up.

I've always wondered what this means.... any ideas?

Tornado in dreams: Destructive mental forces, temper tantrums, extreme emotional distress.

I think it's a pretty safe bet to say that if you're the only one experiencing or seeing something destructive in your dreams, it's because it relates to you only and not the other people around you.

As for the OP, I was curious as to whether or not there might be military bases in the state that might be in training along the coast. I live close to an air base where there's constant training going on and I know that the sounds of the stealth B-2 has sometimes sparked storm type dreams for me while they're training at night. The fact that her husband had the same dream and mentioned the overpowering noise made me think that something had happened in the area that sounded like a tornado and sparked both of their dreams as well.

Make no mistake about it. All military bases are in high gear training right now and our coasts would be their biggest concern.

I often have dreams about tornadoes (bear in mind I live in England) - mostly they involve seeing spectacular tornadoes but then finding my camera is missing or doesn't work or else by the time I have my camera ready they've disappeared over the horizon. I remember one which swept right over me - and no, I still couldn't get any photos

I think that's a good sign. The fact that they come and go so fast that you don't have time to capture it in a photo says that you don't dwell on your personal storms and are easily over them.

That's true in my case. I went through a long phase of having tornado dreams and they always came before a fight with my partner. But it happened so often that maybe because I thought a fight was coming I started it, haha.

The spiral/vortex is an archetype for the Holy Spirit (see signature), prophetically tornado dreams represent tribulation or acute change. If you believe that the weather is governed by solar/aetheric forces then it all ties together.

In my tornado dreams I have overcome fear and awe, I now try to run into the tornado to experience it from the inside.

This will come off as sarcastic, but I promise it's not. I have tornado dreams all the time...because I love the movie Twister. I've also been hit by a tornado, so maybe that has something to do with it, too. I'm not too worried about it.
