Palestinian firefighters tackle huge blaze in smuggling tunnel used to smuggle goods into the Gaza S

This is just about the worst piece of journalism and propoganda i've ever witnessed! It does come from the Daily Fail, but c'mon! The journalist has crossed the word 'tanker' with 'tunnel'.

Story

This is the dramatic moment Palestinians tried to extinguish a huge fire which ripped through a smuggling tunnel in the Gaza Strip today.

The blaze, which happened in the town of Rafah on the border with Egypt, is believed to have been started accidentally.

The tunnels have been used to get goods into the Gaza strip since 2007 when the Israelis stepped up a blockade

That is quite obviously a PETROL TANKER on fire and not a tunnel

I've trawled the internet looking for any news reports of any tunnels, or petrol tankers for that matter, on fire in Gaza and there is nothing at all out there.

If anyone can find the real story that the Daily Fail has ripped off to come up with this piece of BS i'd be interested to see it.

Aside from making a stupid comment in relation to this article that it is probably the worst bit of journalism I've seem for a while...

What on earth a tanker has to do with tunnels I have no idea and if they can not distinguish between a "Tanker" and a "Tunnel" then I think they need to go back to school or at least buy a dictionary and look up the meanings of words before they use them.

Obviously, you "buy" the tunnel story without giving it another thought. Would you have had that thought, it may have been, "Wait! How do you get a huge fire in a tunnel?" This is not the Chunnel-type of tunnel, but something far down that scale.

Where there is smoke, there is fire. Sometimes you gotta look through the smoke.

Buy what now? sorry that tanker is obviously above ground hence my comment that the journalists should find a dictionary and learn the difference between tanker and tunnel... since the photos clearly show a tanker in the open.

The only way this could be related to the tunnel network in the area the photos are claimed to have been taken is if it was receiving fuel that was being pumped from the other end but given how badly the article is written that would be a leap of the imagination rather than good journalism.

As far as the subterranean world goes I have my own experiences in that area which I have mentioned on ATS before so I really do know a tunnel when I see one and I do not see one in these photos
