A thought: Maybe Obama will veto the internet censorship bill to get re-elected?

After a discussion with a friend from a certain notorious online community, this may make sense.:

* Firstly - There can be no absolute internet cut off, no kill switch. It would cause more harm than good, businesses and corporations would collapse within days, this is not good practice for big business.

* Secondly - Internet censorship - possible, but again it would cause riots, trouble and chaos. People with any sense of creative output from all over the world would not tolerate it. They would be removing a limb.

* Third. What better way of getting back in power by threatening to take away your limbs, but granting mercy.

'Hey Obama is a good guy , he saved the internet, let's vote him back in'

Thoughts?

That's a scary scenario. He probably would win a lot of support by doing that. While reading your post, I had a split-second thought where I thought, "damn right I'd vote for him if he did that!" I caught myself instantly but still, I imagine people in general won't instantly push that thought out of their minds. Scary.

Indeed. maybe the whole thing is a mirror-attack.

Definitely food for thought in my book.

Funny. I just put up a thread about Obama. Sure that's a possibility. Every politicians do one thing and then do another thing for publicity and for the seat in a high place for example being a governor, senator, etc. Not surprising, however, should your scenario come true I think I might get arrested for speaking out. Oh no wait I can't cause then I'll be on the hit list as a "Domestic Terrorist"....
