The Underground Railroad and possible Mt Weather connection

Just last night I was watching a show about the Underground Railroad and during the show the experts claim that they dont exactly know where some of the routes end and this is where my mind began to explore some possibilities which I will share with you.

We all know about the rumors surrounding Mt Weather and the alleged tunnel that leads to the White House, Who is to say that our goverment wasnt able to keep expanding and digging more secret routes to make this rumor a fact? The Underground Railroad and Mt Weather are not too far off in distance from one another so its possible this could be plausible, My father who served in Vitenam said the Vietnamese dug so many tunnels that some extended to Hanoi. I know some of you may think Im way off base but you never know.

I'm failing to understand the point. Can you elaborate a little more?

Not sure where you're going with this, but are you talking about the Underground Railroad that moved escaped slaves from the South to the North? If so, the title is mostly a metaphor for a web of people who hid the slaves and enabled their movement into free territory. It isn't literally underground or a railroad.

No worries and yes the famous Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad, Im just simply wondering if there is a connection between the two? Seems like it could be possible, many experts claim that there are still many undiscovered routes and if i know our goverment like I think I do then this could have been a perfect way to continue construction to benefit whatever it is they do....

Haha the underground railroad didn't have anything to do with actually being underground, nor a railroad. It was just a name given to the paths that slaves used to escape the south

yes you are correct about that, looks like i didnt do enough research, I was under the assumption there were tunnels as well, oh well...so i made a mistake...blows my theory way out of the water...mods please close this thread down

But yeah, there probably is a network of secret underground high speed railways using mag-lev technology connecting the various Deep Underground Military Bases. I'm not being facetious.

The underground railroad was a series of underground tunnels that were used by slaves to get north. In the area where I live there are some tunnels around. As a young kid, my best friends basement, right around the corner, was linked to part of a tunnel that went to Lake Erie. It was blocked off so that people wouldn't search it, they can collapse. There is also a house about 1/3 mile from where I live that I believe is in the historic registry for being part of the underground railroad that reached the shores of Lake Erie.

So, yes, the underground rail road was underground. It wasn't a railroad though.
