OWS Protester: …in a few days you’re going to see what a Molotov cocktail can do to Macy’s.

My local Occupy is a bunch of doogooders of a wide variety of ages that speaks simply for a realistic economic system, and that the little guy is more than getting screwed, he's being thrown into the streets while some people steal what little is left. They only meet once a week for a few hours and they don't want to burn anything down, just raise awareness.

They're retired teachers and doctors and students and on and on in variety. They're not a bunch of hippies, they don't burn anything.

They're not REALLY living the occupy lifestyle. But they raise awareness in my hick town.

It's not some sold out organization slaving away for the NWO or the government. It's some angry and sad people who see the horror of what is happening and want it to change. This is a noble thing. I refuse to allow the namecalling towards Occupies to make me stupid enough to think it's about "Commies" or "Democrats" or "Anarchy".

Some people might feel any damn way it doesn't make all the people screwed. They're going to try to either end the protests or call in martial law by sending in people to make trouble. Look at all the people who know it! It will be impossible to stop some evil minion from tossing something that injures the police "enough" for them to retaliate on the entire crowd with some overkill level effect.

It's only a matter of time.

well this financial situation is untenable for many people. the issue at hand is regarding the finer details. there's probably no more arrests during OWS protests than there were before OWS protests. It's just being played up that if you are anywhere inside of the protest, that you are immune to the same laws that apply when there's not a protest. If a police officer would get bent out of shape if you didn't follow his instructions BEFORE the protest ever started, expect the same thing DURING the protest. Why would it be any different? That's the part i don't get.

You're surprised there are arrests in NYC? Is there any way to gauge how many arrests have happened since the protest started in NYC vs. beforehand? I'm willing to bet, it's pretty much the same rate of "crime" arrests, as before the protests began --- maybe even less, since the poorer criminals of NYC are likely engaged in something other than just crime --- such as caring about their future or the futures of their offspring and friends.

It's not wall street you should be after OWS its the head of the snake aka , your government , march on capitol hill and take the protest to washington , en masse . Make a stand there and protest against the government who regulates or fails to regulate wall st. Also at the same make a nice list of all the people before who abused the people of america , their is a nice list of war criminals you can build !

Go them! honestly! I personally think that if they cannot get their message across, unfortunately force is the only other option.

I hope they accomplish what they are fighting for... Though, we should all be fighting with them!

We sit on this site and complain how we hate society, how we hate our jobs, how corrupt the governments are, how the countries are ruled by a fake financial system that's about to collapse any year now...

We should be fighting with them, and demanding our freedom, free ourselves!

It appears that a lot of you need to visit a doctor to get checked for Stockholm syndrome.

In psychology, Stockholm Syndrome is a term used to describe a real paradoxical psychological phenomenon wherein hostages express empathy and have positive feelings towards their captors, sometimes to the point of defending them.

It's a serious disease and can be fatal if not treated in time.

What is that exactly? The next step? Murder and genocide? Not like beating people macing and shooting them with rubber bullets would be anything new or that it made a difference. Also your reference to Stockholm Syndrome, so very true. I suspected there was a mental condition involved with the OWS haters and trolls,but just could not find the proper term for it well that puts things in to perspective. I have been hearing them regurgitate the idea of impending violence coming from the OWS camp at the same time defending police brutality even like some of the quotes here in wishing the cops open fire on OWS ? Now that is disturbing ... they need to be heavily medicated before they hurt someone or themselves "ows haters" that is, also notice the sociopaths that grace this site.

Some very sick and corrupt trolls on this site, thing is this site is not what you think it is. It is set up for certain reasons and agendas/campaigns. And no the Mods... well pay attention to them too. You probably noticed the amount of anti-OWS threads and the smear campaign too being waged by the same posters that have a history of defending the status quo. Dont let them get to you or make you think that there is a significant number of them. There is sock puppets in these here parts, you can tell by the same number of stars they rate each others posts. Usually 3 to 5 at a time. And when they all log on at the same time and log off and they arent the brightest bunch either they are using a script with rebuttals like a cheesy telemarketer selling you a lie . Air them out they tend to regroup. They are very predictable too and have exhausted all excuses at this point it is just regurgitated lies from derelict minds.

Well the soul purpose that they were hired for is not working, the ATS poll and numbers at OWS shows. Even the police brutality, bloomberg abusing his authority will also back fire on them in the long run you see it's all a game that we have been anticipating and expecting them to do and they dont miss a note

This has been one of the most informative threads I think I have ever read on ATS.

Not only have I learned that the action of one individual can stain the reputation of many thousands, I have also learned that many of my fellow members will denounce violence as a way to discredit this movement....and then advocate violence against them!

Now I have to question the integrity of the ATS website as a whole for allowing such blatent disinformation, ignorance and outright calls of violence to be posted on their forums.

I think the time has come for the admins to take control over their boards once again and put a stop to the obvious trend overtaking this website. They may just blow it off, but many of us see what is coming down the pipe.

As I stated in a thread I once authored, the invasion of ATS is at hand.

I know right, what kind of moron brags about his plans to commit crime to a major media outlet? Sounds like he was just trying to get attention, shock people perhaps was just venting his rage. Talk is cheap, usually when people say something of this caliber it is all talk .. shock value meant to turn heads. Its the quiet ones you have to worry about when someone plans to commit a crime.

So either this guy was not thinking and stuck his foot in his mouth or he was probably a planted shill. OWS is a peaceful non violent movement. Resorting to violence will resort to more of the same us vs them mind set the ptb want us to f. all in this trap of violence so it would undermine it. OWS can and will reach it's goals without a single shot fired... i cant speak for the cops they are just itching to murder someone. If i was to learn someone at OWS was planning to incite violence i would do my best to stop them, it is counter productive and it is the opposite of what OWS was intended for.
