Just found this, kind of was an abrupt shock to my system.
Ezio.... don't leave us Ezio....

Embers is set more than a decade after Assassin's Creed: Revelations and follows an older Ezio Auditore with his family, now living in Florence. Ezio fears not only that he is running out of time, but that someone is trying to hunt him down.By this time, Ezio has a daughter named Flavia, and a son named Marcello.

Does this mean the series is really over?
I did like the occult storyline, but I did not like all that precise jumping on large stones and all that beat the clock stuff.

I was just getting ready to go to bed and you dump this on me...
Bah, now I have to go comb through gaming websites to get the skinny on this.

I guess just as they moved on from Altair to Ezio the story will have to move on to someone else, maybe to China now for a while. Who knows? Maybe as time moves more towards the present you get to deal with more modern situations. Hitler did go get the Crown Jewels of the Holy Roman Empire, they could easily be called pieces of Eden, and there were assassination attempts on his life. Imagine the end of the game, sneak into Hitler's bunker and assassinate him without being seen. That would almost be as good as when Ezio beat up the Pope.

You're right, they have many centuries they can still go through. I did enjoy the pope battle.
I was expecting to see Ezio's end maybe at the end sequence of one of the game series. I don't have the latest AC yet, this 22 minute storyline may be apart of the new game for all I know. The release date last I heard was Nov. 15 and this was just released online a few days ago.

"Assassin's Creed is the story of one man reliving the lives of his ancestors. Altaïr was the middle of a very very long time-line. There are still many places to explore. Assassin's Creed has always been planned to be a trilogy, and Desmond is going back in time, using the Animus to eventually become the ultimate Assassin."

―Patrice Désilets, Creative Director of Assassin's Creed.

Assassin's Creed III is an upcoming game being developed by Ubisoft. The game is set be released in 2012, and will have a new setting and will feature a new protagonist, instead of Altaïr or Ezio.

I could've sworn I heard after the first Assassin's Creed was released that they were going to try to work the 2012 Doomsday scenario into the story. But that seems like ages ago, and plans may have changed. Also, it sounds like they might go back to a time before Altaïr.

I do have Revelations, but I haven't beaten it yet. Other than the tower defense thing, I'm pretty satisfied with it.

I thought it was common knowledge Revelations is Ezio's last outing. It should also wrap up Altiar's stroy too.

I have no idea what Embers is because the vid isn't playing.
Check it out later.

I feel like in the next game you'll actually play as Desmond through the whole thing. Maybe you'll play through a couple flashbacks but they really built up Desmond's life in Revelations. If you havent beaten it then read no further, but at the end where Ezio starts talking to Desmond, he leaves the apple for him to use in the future because he knows its corruption. We"ll be able to play as an assassin in a modern day world.

talk about disappointing. revelations didn't give much into the story, they just kind of dragged it out to sell a bunch of copies. far less satisfying than brother hood.
