Do not fight giants. They will do a home run derby on your sorry butt if they hit you with their club.

suppot pc gaming

I wish pc gaming would get some support but the downloading pirates have ruined pc gaming. How you may ask? The reality is almost every game I can think of is a console port. There are some pure pc games like Starcraft and WOW but the majority of games are ports. This is becuase game developers only feel safe making cross platform games now to ensure they make money. So all us people who have ubber pc's suffer from under performing hardware. The developers will not spend time and money to build a pc only version to have it download a million times for free in the first week.

So what we end up with is games that cannot use the awsome power of gaming pc's because the games base architecture must work on the consoles.

My rig

i7-970
Asus RampageIII Extreme
6gb 2000mhz
(2)GTX 580 - 3 gb version

The game uses next to nothing yet there are texture and shadow issues.

All because the game is a port.

Yes indeedy they will.

Funny how one of the first quest I got was to get a mammoth tusk. Impossible that early in the game without some nifty tactics.

What I did was attack a mammoth at the back of the pack, far away from their giant shepards, and get it to chase me to a rock outcropping where I then climbed up, out of its reach, and shot the mammoth with arrows until it died.

Not the classiest way to do it but I don't like open quests in my journal and try to keep them to a minimum. That was before I could crush giants in battle though.

It only took 15 minutes before a guy came outside on launch night to tell the line manager that every copy on every platform was gone and only pre-orders were left.

About 60 people stormed away angry after waiting in line on a cold windy night.

I guess you could also download it from Steam, but you probably want a disc copy. Waiting sucks!

Too late for that now.

Not that I had any gold when the quest came up initially but I have never seen one for sale yet. I will have to look again.

Hey Freespeaker, oh well, now you know atleast for the next go-round. I haven't really finished but a few side quests and atleast I won't have to get my fanny spanked by a giant now.

Funny thing happened last nite...I was heading down to Riften, have not been there so I couldn't fast travel, so I was following a river on the opposite side of the mountain from Whiterun, sorry I am just going off of memory here, heading down map when I heard a dragon...look up....crap he's close, so I turn tail just to give me some breathing room, damn dragon is right on top of me, I hear him land behind me, it's a little bit rough terrain, maybe 15-20 seconds all this is happening, I still hear him roaring and I was waiting for the damn thing to light me up, I turn around ready to fight, OMG, he is dead and I get his soul, I have no clue what happened, I didn't even so much as breath on him, dragon is dead, free dragon soul...nice glitch! Maybe he hit the ground to hard...have no idea...within 30 seconds all this happened...so... yeah a few bugs are present in the game...just had to brag a little bit about it.

Yes there are some things I will not miss or screw up next time. I now know not to sell all my flawless gems, ruby in particular.

I have had a few interesting encounters aswell. I didn't think a dragon could attak you in a city. There I was leaving the potion shop in Solitude when a dragon landed in the middle of the street and choas ensued. It was cool watching the whole town beat on the dragon.

I wondered what killed your dragon though?

Maybe he just got done fighting. I did watch an epic battle between a giant and a dragon. The giant was handing him his shirt when he would land but the dragon finally started just dive bombing and scorching the giant. Soon as the giant died I attacked the dragon. He was in pretty bad shape and it just took a few hits from a two handed sword to do him in.

Yeah sometimes other NPC's and dragons are attacking the other dragon at the same time...... I saw a video before the game released of the dragons picking up giants, taking them in the air and just dropping them...... Did they cut this out before the final release???

Definitely one of the best games of the year.

I got it for my ps3 and it has not disappointed, so far I have just roamed in the game world going to different towns that come my way. And doing quests and such, the latest was I either had to hunt down and kill a werewolf for one of the daedra gods of oblivion, or help the werewolf survive and gain a ally. I chose to help the werewolf, but still cant figure out how you can become one, but I read online that in skyrim it's possible to turn into a werewolf so it can be done.

But ya so far it's pretty diverse and better then the past elder scrolls game....The only real gripe I have with it is that in combat there is not that much strategy to it, and it comes down to either just having better gear, or better lv/skills then you enemies, and plenty of healing potions or spells....But other then that it's up there in terms of game-play, story, and keeping you immersed into the world.

Freespeaker-

I can totally see that scene in my mind...you coming out of the potion shop, whistling away, gots your new potion, life is gooood...ROAR...look up...oh ship! Chaos on the streets! Hilarious!

Dbates-

Maybe he did just get out of a fight...when I heard him he was circling, I turned and did the "Dude, Run!" so my back was to him when he landed...maybe he glitched on the terrain because he seemed to be in the same spot for those 30 seconds and he didn't whip his head around to blast me...I don't know...weird but great for me

Jh-

I really have no idea what happened to that dragon...all I know is one minute he was all up on me, next he was giving up the ghost...

I have to say that one of the best strategies is like you did Dbates....lure the dragon into a fight with another monster...and make sure you have a follower to keep its attention while you come in from the side or back to finish it.

Bethesda outdid themselves. This game is amazing. The graphics are astounding and just the scenery and the cinematography alone put it head and shoulders above anything I have played. The intricate details, from the intricate etchings on weapons and doorways to the flow of the water in the rivers. Breathtaking to watch.

I was an Oblivion junkie and I loved the Fallout games as well. But this game is epic. Masterful craftsmanship and an adventure beyond the normal realm of interactive RPG.

Killer.

Nope, yesterday we saw a dragon drop a woolly mammoth from the sky. Didn't see him pick it up. Just saw this approaching dragon and then down comes a woolly mammoth from it's clutches. We laughed and laughed about that.

Avoided the mammoths since there were 3 of them (One would probably kill you) and then ran into 2 saber tooth jaguars. The dragon started in on one of them but was attacking me as well. So me vs. 2 jaguars and a dragon. I died.

What species and level are you that allows you to pwn giants? I am a Level 11 Reptillian only better looking than the ones that run Wall Street. I have avoided those tall fkers like the plague since the first one sent me flying into the stratosphere but am desperate to get my swerve on with one in battle. I was able to take out an ice troll with my destruction magic with relative ease as well as a sabre cat so I am feeling a little cocky.

For some reason my character cannot hear someone I am looking directly at. A slight look to the left or right its fine. Maybe an issue with my sound card (been acting up)

sounds like you've got it set to surround sound and don't have a center channel speaker.
