To the relavent Mod/Mods for this forum:

Is there any way a detailed and specific account could be given of exactly what is happening with that thread??

It may seem somewhat daft hearing interest on this from a Brit, since it has no affect on me which way that vote goes, or indeed if that poll were to end up changing the interpretation of a US law. However, interested I am, and an explanation would be nice.

Apparantly a post I made on that thread, recieved a reply , and because the thread is now outside my reach, I cannot read it. This is fustrating.

Thanks in advance for your assistance in this matter.

I'm not at all sure why it was 404'd. HOWEVER the Weapons and Tactics forum is NOT a political forum:

FSME-The Weapons and Tactics Forum: What it is and what it is NOT

Edit:

It may have been moved to the trash because it had a direct link to the poll, which could be seen by staff as an attempt to stack the poll which violates the T & C:

Our friend and fellow member projectvxn is correct regarding solicitation and/or activism.

But it also bears mentioning that this is an issue you might have contacted a mod about for a direct response. Please don't hesitate to do so in the future should the need arise. It takes the guess work out of the matter.

In regards to the "poll" thread to which you have referred, it is important to note that suggesting or recommending participation in such a poll creates an opportunity for those whose intent is to incite friction to stake a claim on the other side of the fence; which tends to reduce our ability for measured rational discussion by inviting the sophistic specters of ideologies and political theater (which in my opinion have yet to be proven productive, or even mildly entertaining.)

We don't discourage the dialog.... it's the 'call to arms,' metaphorically speaking, which we must do without for the sake of our community.

It was 97% pro gun ownership when I voted... that surprised me.

As mentioned, the correct way to question any staff action is to send a message to a particular mod or file a complaint.
