Oh lets see here, civil unrest, economical collapse, wars, food shortages and high prices.....pretty much what is happening now over a large part of the world.

I don;t see widespread riots. no burning tires rolling down streets. no molotov cocktails thrown. no violence.

If a meltdown is slow, over a period of time, you would begin to see what we are just beginning to see now, though more advanced in some of the Middle East / African countries: Predominately social agitation -> protests -> unrest -> rioting -> looting -> chaos -> breakdown in civil order -> martial law or revolution.
