This is a conspiracy forum so here goes my reasons for not liking OWS.

1% have existed since the early 1900s: While everybody was minding their own business 5-10 years ago, I was a High School kid very interested in conspiracies. I cleared out my local library, school library, and surfed the internet for hours late at night! I read all the stuff about NWO, the powerful rich elite classes and how they are all connected. etc etc... I tried to tell people the crazy amount of information I had found. Five years ago people called me crazy and insane. When I tried to tell them that 1% of the world controls 95% of its money. Today it is daily fact! Daily gossip!

Nothing is Going to Change: Do you people honestly think that a bunch of people are really going to change the NWO scenarios, laws, systems, and policies that have been put in place and scheduled for the past 100 years? The 1% are the 1% for a reason. Instead of trying to destroy and kill them, I aspire to become one of them! Whatever happened to the American Dream?

Elite Don't Care and are Safe: Whatever "new" and "better" system "the 99%" are going to set up is going to be funded by the rich and "allowed" by the government. The only reason USA isn't in complete chaos is because the gov't has a good handle on this thing. These people cannot handle simple donations to their organization, how do you think they do running the world?

Corporations Give America Life: Sorry communists without corporations America wouldn't be here today! We may have corporatism here and there, but again those companies are part of the 1%. Corporations still drive the American Economy and always will!

You Don't Need to Go to College and Other Options: If you can't afford to go to college why are you going there in the first place? There is something called Loans. You can take out loans and pay them back once you graduate and get a job. Don't choose a degree that you can't make money out of. Economics, Bio-Engineering, and Technology are all good fields to go into. Philosophy, Physical Education, and Art are not! There are trade schools and even specialized technology schools aimed at creativity, problem solving, and the future. Plus there is always the military or volunteer opportunities!

You Need Connections: In order to make it in life you need connections. People don't make it on their own and any first year business student knows this. Ask for jobs from your family and friends and friends of friends. See if they know anything about the industry you are trying to go into. There is a reason the 1% are all connected :-) So Network!!!!

So-Called Police Brutality Of all the YouTube Videos I watched, the protesters were asking for Police to intervene. It is getting a bit ridiculous at some of these rallies. It seems that these people think drumming, and making loud obnoxious speeches, trashing places, and illegally blocking roads are legal and completely within in their rights to do so. WRONG! Another thing, the entire protests are illegal!!!! There is a law called loitering. So technically under government law you have no rights to be there. The Government and the Mayors of each town "put up" with the protests. I will honor any NYC Police Officer who handles that crowd over some random dude whining about capitalism any time! The NYC Police is in full force and are handling the situation amazingly!!!!!

Where is Obama?: You know the man of the people. Savior of the world. Change we can believe in. If OWS really is that Change take me to your leader! But seriously, I guess Obama is now a 1%er huh?

Now I know many on ATS wanted to start this type of revolution so I know I am going to get attacked for mentioning these facts!

The american dream of excess everything.
How about we create a world were success does not have to be at the populations expense.

And this attitude is what I dislike about OWS and Socialists in general. The tactic they use is to tear down our culture and society from the inside, to make room for the cancer of socialism to invade our spirit.

There is no "excess everything" in the American dream. Achieving the dream does not happen at the population's expense. It happens at a cost of personal strength and sacrifice. Get an education and a decent job and put your nose to the grindstone for a few years. Don't assume that you are "owed" anything by the rich and wealthy -- they owe you nothing personally. Do the work and you will most likely be rewarded, but there is no guarantee.

But then come the leeches, who want cradle to grave entitlements, at the cost of...who? And they are not even bright enough to recognize their enemies -- the Barack Obama's of the world. The ones who make the rules that the wealthy can exploit. No, instead they attack the wealthy guy, who is only playing the game by the rules set up for him. End result? Obama will "join" the OWS, gather votes for 2012, and live to defraud you another day.

Stop being such fools and recognize who your real enemy is.

Things won't change as long as we keep believing that they can't change.

There's 7 billion of us

1% of 7 billion is 70 million

1 % vs 99 %

We can make things change if we really wanted to. But we don't want it bad enough.

Well I'll just chuck in my negative thoughts for today on the subject. While the vast majority of citizens in the weest care more the X Factor and American Idol and their facebook accounts, nothing will ever change. Most people couldn't give a damn about politics or TPTB. TPTB provide the Bread and Circus's that keep the masses happily sedated, why would anyone want to change that? People have never in the course of history had it so good.

If it wasn't for the wonders of modern consumer capitalism we would all be lying around in our own sh&%t, with our teeth falling out and dying at the age of 40.

Caution some strong language

I couldn't have said it better myself.

Those that say we need more people and we can have change if we believe. What exactly do you mean by change again??? Oh that's right you don't exactly have an agenda, plans, leaders or anything thought out really!

I would have to think a MAJORITY of OWS supporters have voted for this man.Even if they didn't,the ANGER at him should hold no bounds.Where is the OUTRAGE? Where are the protests ? Accountability for Bailouts, the unforgivable Unemployment mess. Before someone crys foul, and says that it was Bush who started the bailouts, let me tell you it was supposed to Be hope and Change! He could have easily said No! Everyone at OWS should be calling for his resignation, not voting for him again.

I was reading an article where they said that OWSers just shrugged him off with hung heads of disappointment. This is why these people are uneducated. Obama's policies have been just as sloppy as Bush's but you'll never hear MSNBC compare Bush to Obama ever. Even though, the world is preparing for a possible third world war at any moment. The hippies at OWS doesn't know this however, because they are sitting on their butts at Wall Street! It's a huge distraction! Maybe there will be a draft and those people can be called into service first :-).

One of the many reasons OWS came about is because millions have been pursuing the amercan dream, paying their taxes, putting their noses to the grindstone as you would like to call it, being good honest citizens and see a broken country left as a result.

Have fun pursuing the amercan dream when there are no jobs because of our infrastructure.

I think you make some very valid points. It's refreshing to read an anti-OWS thread and you only got one "communist" in there.

Nothing is Going to Change:

I think that we have already seen changes occur. The MSM initialy blew Occupy movements off as trivial, but over the last month we have seen coverage increase. That alone means they are paying attention.

Also we have seen BOA retract their $5 fee. While this is not necessarily tied to OWS actions, I think it is a by-product of the mass disgust people throughout America are feeling. That is what spawned the OWS movement.

You Need Connections:

You're right, and what is the one "connection" we have had as long as humans existed and long before business was around?

Family! Community!

That is the only connection we no longer have as a society. We rely on the system more than we rely on those around us. The family connection needs to return and business can take a back seat.

Where is Obama?: You know the man of the people. Savior of the world. Change we can believe in. If OWS really is that Change take me to your leader! But seriously, I guess Obama is now a 1%er huh?

Show me how Obama, or any other president, actually wields the power to change anything? He is just the "bobble-head" that stands in front of the cameras to make us all feel that there is a captain at the helm.

He's a tool of the money-interests, just like Congress.

You Are Not Owed Anything!!!

Yes we are!

I am owed my rights as an individual and human being! I used to think I was a free man, but I am not. You are not. There is too much red tape that prohibits you from being independent of the system.

HaHa! Your welcome. I hadn't noticed that I only used one communist. Usually my other posts are bashing them, so maybe I should just replace that keyword with something less threatening lolz. I for one am content with the system. I am content that I know I have a bright future ahead of me. I know I need help to get things started, and I know I will have to repay those who have helped me in the future. I want to be successful in my life and I have big dreams that can change the world! I know it will not change and any "better" system won't really be. The better system would be a sugar coated lie, like Communist China, Russia, and the Socialist regime of the European Union.

You mentioned MSM are paying attention now, and while they did get the coverage that they wanted so what? Do you realize what that means? That means a block of the media coverage, every night, needs to go to OWS. Why? I think the issues surrounding Iran would mean more to people or the 2012 elections? But no everybody love to watch idiots in action. Just ask Charlie Sheen!

Bullcrap. What I see and hear is a group of whiners who want instant gratification for minimum effort. They want real life to mimic one of their sitcoms or video games. I came from poverty where my brothers and I shared the "good pair of socks", that's how poor we were. Over the years I have been able to buy and sell 5 properties. I'm nothing special. I never went downtown to crap on cop cars when I wanted a house; I went to work. How the hell does "our infrastructure" cause no jobs?

I see a country that is still rich in natural resources. Yet we ruin farmers in California by diverting needed water from their land because of some stupid snail darter or other bug. We sit on treasures of oil and natural gas because of the emissions from one life-saving ice breaker ship that "irritates" a tiny village in AK. We explain it by pushing "green jobs". :shk:

Corruption and fraud pushed on us by liberal socialists is our problem. Fix it by removing Obama, for starters.

It's great that you are optimistic. When you set your mind to it, you can do anything.

But the reality is this: Everyone CAN achieve anything, but not everyone WILL. Even if you do succeed, you are only one illness away from complete bankruptcy even if you have good insurance.

There is only a small portion of the public, 1% maybe
, that can pay their medical bills with cash if they have to have a heart transplant, etc. The rest of us go into debt for life, and possibly hand that debt to our children.

That is the system at work and it applies to many areas. So while I support you and your aspirations, we have to realize there are many people out there hurting to keep their heads above water. How many of them had big dreams like you?

so . . . DO YOU SUPPORT CORRUPTION ? ? ?

Politics now are run just as Enron was corrupt.
There are no regulations in place for those that have
power, and money talks for them regardless of ethics.
Meanwhile, the voice of the people, family, seniors has been lost.
It's time now to confront the beast and
tame the money-changers.

I do not support corruption at all. I want to end the fed like Ron Paul and some of OWS. I want a free market where people called consumers regulate the goods and resources, not lobbyists and big government! However, you are not going to change a 100 year old system overnight. And its looking more and more likely that OWS is on the wrong side of many issues.

Not trying to butt in on your conversation with ToneDeaf, but we are all "wrong" on some of the issues. None of us have all the answers to what ails the US.

The people within OWS are no different, but OWS is out there drawing attention to all of the problems that most of us can actually agree on. How we fix those problems is the real debate, but their intent is in the right place.

eehh,. I'm going to disagree with this one.... Corporations do NOT run the economy. at least not the American economy. China, yes. They don't even create a single net new job. They lay off and recycle...

New jobs are created by small businesses. They are literally, the back bone of this country. Small mom and pop shops dying because of all this Bank/Corporations/free trade/everything else...... they are dying, and the jobs are dying with them.

You cannot grow an economy without small businesses. It's just not possible. If you have no product to export, you have no economy. These large corporations sell our jobs overseas, make their product there, and then import it back into the US to sell to the american public. That money goes back overseas. it does not stay here. How is that economically responsible? You cannot import everything, and export nothing.

Support small business, buy American (as in MADE in America) here is a link to a good explanation of what is really going on. As a small business owner myself, it's a great site and I recommend it. www.asbl.com

wow... As we are all entitled to our opinion, I think Thomas More said it best....

" If you suffer your people to be ill-educated, and their manners corrupted from infancy, and then punish them for those crimes to which their first education disposed them, what else is to be concluded, but that you first make thieves and then punish them? "....

Liberal Socialist. Lets take a look at the definition.. Liberal: a free thinker, someone who believes in Equality... Socialism: A place where everyone is equal and given the same opportunities.. Now, remind me again, how is that such a bad thing? Why is it used as a Dirty Word?

You also say that us whiners, expect instant gratification? Does the GOP not expect the same from Obama? Calling him a failure after only 3 years with at least 10 years of economy killing needless war? The economy was crumbling before Obama got into office. War caused the economic downfall. Mindless spending on things other than infrastructure, killed this country. Laying off teachers, laying off working class Americans. Sending jobs overseas. Importing foods that are poisoning our own people... Tell me where your party lies here, other than drill baby drill? Save a bug maybe, maybe someday that bug helps create drug that saves your, or one of your loved ones life.

Who cares what party, or how liberal, or how conservative thinking you might be, the problem is blatantly obvious, yet no one is addressing it.. We are selling American to other countries. Bottom line. And someone, either Rep or Dem needs to stop it.
