Seems like Bane's call to the citizens of Gotham to take control of their city worked (if anyone remembers the scene filmed at Heinz Field back in
July when his mercenaries interrupted a Gotham Rogues game by blowing up the field)
The more I think about it, the more I wonder if they're using the plot to the 92 comic Knightfall where Bane instigates a riot and keeps Batman busy
rounding up the criminals until he's weakened enough to go to the Batcave and then Bane kicks his ass and breaks his back.
Only wonder because I've been following this movie for months (as my thread posted on ATS in the Movies section ages ago will attest) and so far, a
few scenes have followed the Knightfall story exactly (flooded tunnel being one of them)
