That's cool. May I ask what bank you use? I am always keeping an eye out for banks that have happy customers.

Is yours one that is or has been planning to introduce checking account fee's?

If so, I just am not willing to allow them to reach into my wallet and take money. When I put my money in an account, it is a loan to them. With the agreement that I can get my money back at any given time.

But when they start thinking they can also reach in and just take a gift from me,I say no way. Which is why I left and went to a credit union.

I opened my account at a local Credit Union on Tuesday.
Unfortunately, I had to wait for the balance on my old bank account to equal out, so I didn't make it in time for "Move Your Money/Bank Transfer Day." First thing on Monday though.

I only have about 47 cents on that account anyway, so I don't think any CEO is getting a raise with my money.

I've been a member of Wright-Patt Credit Union since 1993. I use the Credit Union Service Centers all the time to do all my 'banking'. I will never use a commercial bank ever again!

Washington first bank.

I'm not sure, but I don't think so.

I agree the big banks are a scam. My bank is nice though it's also really small.

I moved my money yesterday since i had to work Saturday morning. The teller begged me not to close my account because my mortgage is with Wells Fargo. And It really irked me that Wells Fargo holds my mortgage and my bank account. That was the main reason why i went to the credit union right across the street.

The Mrs. Cuervo and I opened up a credit union account last week and spent the last several days transferring all of our automated banking stuff over. Today, I drove straight to Chase and closed my account. They had the branch manager talk to me to convince me they are good for the town. In any case, they were definitely rattled by the closures today and were looking a bit worried.

I sorta/kinda did it, but there was a glitch. My rent check has not hit CHASE yet, so I took most my money out and left what is needed for the rent to go through. Once the rent has cleared I will go back to chase and shut down that account.
I moved to a local Utah credit union.

Gunna be some work next week involved in getting auto deposits to recognize this move, and have then now use the credit union.

Thanks to all of you that made the move --- either on Saturday or before. Please keep in mind, this isn't intended to be a one-day-only event. It's never too late to do this. Is the loss of our paltry accounts going to bring the Big Banks down? Of course not. That isn't and was never the point. The idea is to let the businesses that have taken advantage of us know that we CAN organize and we CAN hurt them. You play fair, we'll play fair.

And for all of you that are hell-bent on staying with the Big Banks, no whining when the next shoe drops. We won't be listening.

I took all my money out of Wells Fargo about 5 years ago.

I think today, for fun, I'm going to walk into a BoA and ask to open a checking account.... Then as the teller gets all the paperwork ready I'll say "Just kidding!" and walk out.
