Smart Meter Removal Has Begun in California

Looks like there is at least a little bit of good news. Seems they are now starting to remove the "Smart Meters" in California.

California’s Investor Owned Utilities (IOUs) has quietly begun replacing Smart Meters with analog meters for citizens reporting adverse health effects. Consumer rights and other groups demanded immediately that their wireless devices be removed from their homes.

The other news is they are replacing them with "Analog Meters."
If you read the article, you will see that it has relieved some of the side effects that were reported, but sadly, other states are still going ahead and installing them anyway.

Its a shame just how oblivious some people are to what is actually being done to them. All they hear is it will be better and cheaper, not realizing until its to late what has actually happened to them.

OK, next they should toss out all mobile phones, Wi-Fi, Blue-tooth devices, computers, etc.... because they also emit radiation...... And computers, they emit a lot of radiation... and microwave ovens, and your TV.....

Well, the radiation was part of the problem. Prices doubled, sometimes tripled, according to the article.

I had no idea they even had 'smart' meters let alone the complaints that people had against them.

OK, if it is all about prices, and the fact that the power companies can cut off your electricity at any time by sending a signal, that I can understand, but then the article should have stated that better, and not a lot of hogwash about dirty radiation.

As I've stated here before I work with these meters and all the bs is simply bs. I just heard Kathryn Albrecht say these meters can tell what show or movie you watch on tv. That isn't even possible. There is soooo much disinfo created by looney people

I designed some of those meters like in 20 years ago, and the problem then was, even if they went into low-power mode, whilst still measuring (which 20 years ago was not quite as low-power as modern ones, I guess), it was scary to think that if you supplied a couple of million of them to homes, you would need a whole power-station (OK, in that country the power-stations were not that huge) just to keep the meters alone running.... that was a weird thought, but now as I am writing this comment, I just did some rough sums to see how many power stations are required just to keep our mobile-phones running, and that was a real scary thought!!!!!

Proof that green technology does make the earth greener, and it makes you greener too because you will soon be pushing up daises under a patch of sod in the local cemetary for using it. MMMM, radiation therapy for those who don't even have cancer.

We have a smart meter and the information that it provides is interesting. In the middle of the night, our little red and green lights and the fridge cost $0.04 an hour. A the day goes on our usage can almost identify the appliance. I don't worry about privacy issues. I can't see anyone caring about when we sleep or watch TV.

I hate to say it, but the curly light bulbs, a new fridge, and the smart meter save us about $40 a month.

One big plus is that the electric company can tell when there is a power outage without someone calling in.
