I wish ATS had a like or dislike button here. Just like facebook, ware you can LIKE a comment or news storie some one had made. Or even better have a like button and dislike button like you tube. For example. Some Youtube member gets 198 likes and 12 dislikes. This would help alot. Its would give every one a easy visual if a thread seems good or not and if interesting to the majority of users and to participate in it. Facebook and youtube seem to be able to catch your attention, so why not include this on ATS. This would benefit everyone if you know what I mean.

I'm actually inclined to say I'd like to see it myself, somewhat.

Some comments and threads seem to get an inordinate amount of stars and flags in my opinion, so another gauge to show general community disapproval as well would be interesting, even if it wasn't weighted to otherwise affect stats or your ATS account.

In stead of writing something meaningfull, pushing the like/dislike buttons will make people even dumber! Monkeys do that already..... humans have the capacity to think and write or speak. So, why do you need an option to make your self similar to an animal?

Why do you need the opinion of the others? if 100 liked and 100000000 disliked it - does that mean for you it is not worth to watch or read it? If the answer is yes, that means you let yourself control by the herd mind and cannot think individually! I never care about those like/dislike quotes. People who are unable to write or think, want a participation in the comment section, thats why they want those idiotic buttons. Soon you will see even more such buttons like "funny", "sad", "awfull", "sexy" or "lovely"..... by that way the majority will just sit in front of the screen and "push the buttons" like the monkeys which get a peanut for it. (some sites use it today!)

So, as far as I understood from your OP you are just a small step away from it!

What is the problem with you people? Why is it so hard to write a few sentences about what you THINK?

Its a idea. Or even only those who make a comment on a thread can rate like or dislike.

Don't you know that "like and dislike" button would turn into the same charade and a year from now someone will be posting the same thing. The S&F system works, dont fix what isnt broken.

They thought the "spork" would fix the whole spoon vs fork "dilema."

Turns out the spork is even more unpopular.
This is a weak example, but the "dislike/like" button is a weak feature when you already have something that is represents the same option.

Not to mention it is run on FB, who the heck wants this forum to turn into that creature. Talk about devolution
