Space analyst Prof John Logsdon from George Washington University said the two nations needed to learn to trust each other first, perhaps in the field of robotic space science, before there could be wider co-operation. "Human spaceflight, both in the United States and in China, is a very visible, very politically charged activity," he told CCTV. "[We need] to learn to work with one another, get comfortable, develop mutual trust, hopefully solve our political problems, and then maybe at the end of this decade or in the next one start working together in human spaceflight."

With the International Space Station's future in doubt, will the Chinese be the only ones out there ?

Good for them, at least someone is staying in the space race and will be able to advance science in that direction.

But of course, no one in the House and Senate seems to get that all that science we did getting into space, has had a pay off that raised our quality of life. (Or if you will, the ones that do get it, are not able to pass funding for it.)

working together for space flights?

Well, Carl himself would be proud. This is exactly what we need to do, and honestly, pretty quick too.

I can only hope, within my lifetime.

Wow, that is actually pretty amusing considering Russia accomplished the first docking in human history in 1965 LOL. So please save your applause, they are 4 decades behind and with modern man's technology this is a rather sad story that they just now were able to do this.
