yay i'm a someone.
never really thought about using archery against the dragons, could be good but i'd rather swing my sword like madman and use a spell if it's out of reach.
im usually fairly suicidal on these kinda games, i'll probably jump off a tall castle tower and hope i land on the thing to slash away at its back.

That sounds awesome, I hope we can do that too.

Being completely new to the Elder Scrolls, I don't know what kind of Character I will be, hopefully theres good descritptions of their abiulities as well as future abilities so I can make a good choice form the start.

Gunna be a Dark elf, play as an assassin, def. learn the charm spell, I saw in the demo e3 playthru.. Hoping we have cloaks on the console, to play the part. With the sneak attack animations I just see many hours of enjoyment.. Prob. specialize in chemistry so I can make poison etc. etc. When I want a change in gameplay, I will head out to the werewolf quest I suppose, that sounds fun.. Mauling people in a video game...

I have decided I will be a skull crushing Nord who knows no fear and feels no pain. I will get the biggest axe and heaviest armor I can find and go forth to slay all the lesser mortals who don't sufficiently grovel before my mighty strength.

At least thats the plan for now.

Usually and in the previous elder scroll games I was almost always a sword swinging Norn, or human.

Basically it was on of the more funner classes, because you get up there in the action. In the more magic classes I don't know but it was usually stand back and watch the fireworks...
But long distance combat gets pretty boring over time.....

So ya I have no clue what race or even gender I will go with in the game, but probably female...Because I'f I am going to be stuck in world for possibly thousands of hours of game play...And especially now that you can go into third person mode more easily and effectively....Well the last thing I want to see is some dudes backside running around for all that time, I prefer a females characters backside. It makes it easier on my eyes.

But in either case i am planing on doing some drinking
and bashing the inhabitants of the world with good ol fashion swords, clubs, spears, axes, hammers, and whatever else..:bash: Other then that I plan on messing around and clowning in the game world as always. It's that time again.

Jeeze, you made me flash back to my teens. I was a D&D freak and I actaully still have a Drizzt model that I bought back then. Cool idea.

I love how this game is working actually

I started basically aiming towards a Khul Drogo feel...was going to go mostly warrior. Little bit of developed magic mostly for healing and the odd fireball...but for the most part, the path of steel

Well, as I am quite into it, I find myself spending most of my time using magic, upgrading magic, etc. still not pure mage, but it is seeming battlemage type character is becoming my focus. time to trade in the steel armor for some cool looking enchantment robes and a sturdy helm I guess

You know books are still coming out about him and the underdark adventures...good stuff to this day.

I miss the gang, might have to pick the books up again after soo many years.

Drizzt...hmm...might be a good focus once the modders make elves a bit less...like klingon zombies and a bit more like...tolken style elves (seriously...how are the most ugly creatures..worse than trolls...the elves?! They are meant to be stunningly beautiful and with angular features, high cheekbones, etc...they made elves look like retarded aliens with bad hair)

You are soooo right i thought it was funny kind of....I too really like how the magic has turned out

Im contemplating making a conjurer/summoner...the only thing i dont agree with is how mages can wear armor and it enhances their magicka
oh well we can't expect the forgotten realms from Bethesda....although if they did make a game like built like skyrim it would be amazing

Well, one thing that Bethesda gets 5 stars for me about is their modding support. So, yes...they are trying to create their own sort of "flavor", but, they also make it to where you can have the world to your desires also.
Just waiting for the construction set...put the elves down to a good 5'5 height and make them pure hotness as should be.

Also not a fan of how there are (from what I noticed so far...but this may be inaccurate) no wood elves in any forest areas I scouted so far...so might have to plonk a elven village or two in there...also, dunmar (dark elves) should be underground in my opinion...so, a mod of a mega underground dark elf city near the border of Cyrodiil may be in order...making such things is easy...making them interesting, well, thats where other modders come into play (quests and whatnot).

As far as Forgotten Realms TES style...well, one can dream...but, with soo many books and lore out, unless the game took 10 years in development and encompassed an area so massive it would take 3 dvds just to download the map, then it would be a disappointment. and then the problem is, which age would they go with? Would Drizz't be wandering around the spine of the world? would it be before or after Mystra became the goddess of magic/time of troubles, etc..but it would be truely awesome and a place to spend a full decade poking around and building up.

What would also be epic would be a merging of say, minecraft with TES...I would soo love to mine my own oars, chop down my own trees, and build my own hut/house/village/castle/town. there will eventually be mods down the line that allows stewardship and such and grow a town kind of thing (like Kvatch reborn from Oblivion), but that is just..ok, drop 10k gold into this coin and tomorrow the entire western half will be autobuilt..good, but not great)

ok, I am rambling

High Elf with emphesis on destruction magic, restoration magic, and thievery. One-handed weapon with a restoration spell in the other. Mad bow skills also. Don't under-estimate the power of forging your own gear...level 22 so far, wish I could afford to buy this game, I'm just renting it, working on my second 5 day rental at this point. Good luck to all the dragonborn!

I ended up going with a Wood Elf as his strengths are pretty great for my character concept (i.e. the sneaky assassin/rogue type). I just started (level 4), but so far, I think I'm off to a pretty good start.

My Archery, Sneak, and Lockpicking are creeping towards 30 where I can start upgrading those perks, and my Alchemy is also improving.

I found a great little free starter house, with a nightstand I can store things in, a bed to sleep, and even a little ingredient farm and alchemy lab right outside! (Alchemist's Shack). I've got a couple of Steel Swords I dual-wield, an Imperial Bow, and lots of Arrows. I'll soon join up with the Dark Brotherhood and get that Armor and start doing some contract kills too!

So far, I've even been able to make Invisibility potions, Paralysis poisons, etc., something I never could have done so low in Oblivion. My next stop is to go to the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary and join them. Can't wait for the holiday weekend, Skyrim is calling!
