I believe animals do have souls the same as humans. If you watch ghost hunters or paranormal investigators you will see that they actually get recorded voices of animals when they do the evp (electronic voice phenomenon). I do not think god was so heartless that he made the animals with no souls so when they die they just rot in the ground. Peopl who love their animals that die and go to heaven are going to wonder where there animals are or either they just will not have any memory of ever having the animal.

And on another thread

Someone said animals don't have soul's
I disagree with this, just look into the eye's of a great Ape or even a pig (pity bacon taste's nice though) and I see that they have a soul, eyes are the window to the soul..

Thought's?

This is what the wise man Solomon had to say about it.

Ecclesiastes 3
20 All go to the same place; all come from dust, and to dust all return. 21 Who knows if the human spirit rises upward and if the spirit of the animal goes down into the earth?”

The spirit is different than the soul. The soul is typically associated with the emotions and essential being of a person. The soul to me seems to be the connecting vessel for the spirit of man. In my estimation of the physics of God, the trinity is particle, wave and consciousness. LINK Light is a duality of particle and wave. God is one person, yet three in our reality. We are one person, yet we have a body (particle and wave) and a spirit (Consciousness) The trinity is Father (Light), Son (Word/Wave) and Holy Spirit (Consciousness). Animals have all three and the soul connects the body to the spirit of consciousness. I would say yes.

Here is further Biblical insight on the soul:

We all know the story of the creatin of Man in Genesis - God made a body, and breathed into it the Breath of Life. Man then became a living soul. Noah was commanded to take aboard the Ark all animanls having the breath of life. It is this Breath of Life which makes us living beings, or souls. The Bible, unkike most of its followers, uses this meaning consistently. We do not have souls - we are souls, and so are all air-breathing animals. When we die, our spirit (same word as "breath") returns to God, and our bodies return to the dust. That is why no one has been able to find the "seat of the soul." It is ineffable, just breath, just wind.

If you read the book of genesis in the original Hebrew it most defiantly says the some animals have souls, the new testament. Talks of animals being in heaven with us and all feeding on grasses of the fields were the lion will lie down with the lamb. A child can play on the hole of an asp so yes animals will be in heaven and do have souls, why do people find this hard to believe God loves all his creations and the lie of Hell and eternal suffering is bull crap.

Any and all things which possess life giving energy has what is called a soul. Think of a soul as the glue that holds spirit and matter together. Not to be confused as to what a spirit is.

In my belief they do have souls as we do. But the glorified heaven ideal is absent, it's the "afterlife".

LV111 6 The Lord will not judge a single soul of beast for man's sake, but adjudges the souls of men to their beasts in this world; for men have a special place. 7 And as every soul of man is according to number, similarly beasts will not perish, nor all souls of beasts which the Lord created, till the great judgement, and they will accuse man, if he feed them ill.

Do animals have souls? I think probably. And I think we will see them in the afterlife.
That could be interesting. We'll have to face all the chickens and fish and cattle that we have eaten.
I wonder if they'll forgive us??

The cut worm forgives the plow. [read it somewhere...]

Surely we will all be glad just to be alive again!

Anyhow, we, and the animals, do not have souls, we are souls.
