That's how it feels sometimes whilst adapting to perceptual changes. I used to think it only occurred while dappling in new processes whose purpose is to initiate the change in the first place. Now I realize that's not always the case. It can happen at any time whilst engaging in the same process for some time. The adaptation stage is neverending. There will inevitably be more continual advancement in perception causing temporal disorientation. The ideal way to cope is to sleep more until it subsides. This is not always practical. You know it would be beneficial to go back to sleep but your waking life cannot be conveniently put on hold. So ultimately you succumb to & cope the best you can until the storm subsides. Then you realize it was all worth it.

The calm after the storm. Those words came to my mind in a moment of piece after alot of tramma (death, losses etc) just lat week. I even posted in a group I belong to ... the subject line reading "the calm after the storm".

I can't say it was worth it...not at the expence of my baby brothers life (22 years old), and so many other things in a string of events. But, I know there is a reason.

My initial post now seems a bit ironic now. Mainly because lately, there has been a role reversal of sorts.

It is now my nighttime sleep that is bombarded with too many dreams combined with maybe an AP in there somewhere. Too much to keep track of during those moments & upon awakening. Good thing the waking hours feel well rested in spite of it.

I think I know the cause & have downsized some things. The one thing I decided to keep is strangely slightly overpowering at times on its own. It's still manageable though and worth keeping because of its calming & positive effect on the environment around me (especially people). Hey, it's better to be both self-satisfied & ultruistic at the same time if it can be managed.

So now hopefully I only need to deal with mini storms here & there. More adaptation required but of the more manageable type.

I'm sorry, but I'm a little lost here. Does anyone mind telling me what the gist of this thread is please?

Hahaha. It's about perception & the manipulation of perception.

Those who have done it will know.

When lightning struck a power line box whilst I was driving near it my perception seemed to slow down, it seemed like every second was a minute. Is that what you mean by perception change?
