Sometimes the universe communicates to me messages that I cannot create an entire thread out of. Just simple gems of wisdom that spoke to me, and I hope they will speak to you as well. Some you may have read elsewhere, some may be new to you. Many have multiple meanings, and will mean different things to different people. It is you who gives these words meaning, not I.

-Communication is art that paints itself on the eternal canvas of the soul.

-The enlightened monkey uses his cage as a shield, his masters as slaves, and his pain and humiliation as divine communication.

-Every Day takes another tomorrow to know it's real.

-All of the horrible past will become art when we are finished painting it with the brush of the present.

-The Universe does not waste a single atom. Do not become so arrogent that you think the universe does not know of your consciousness, or even more arrogent to assume it will waste it when you die.

-If you can't discover the rules of the lamp, you will never become a Genie.

-Time will bring understanding no matter how long it takes.

-Only by experiencing the shallowness of hate can you experience the depths of love.

-A Song for the Seers to Sing - I am a seer with sight beyond sight. I can see things in the dark or the light. So tell me my friend what you want me to see, and I'll close my eyes and there it will be.

-Buyers Beware, Be a skeptic not a cynic.

-If you feel you have done too much, that means you did just enough.

-When you see everything as art, it takes very little effort on your part, to make art.

-Are you feeling it now, Mr. Crabs?

-God is an over-unity singularity of love, and he is communicating something important to you so you can help.

-The Universe is like good parents, if we show real interest in something, then it will do all it can to help us learn it.

-All Holy Books contain: History added by men, lies added by dominators, truth added by prophets, and symbolism and metaphors added by the universe.

I will add more as they come to me. I know you will bring them to us as well.
Think you for your time.

Wouldn't it be arrogant to assume that the universe "knows your consciousness" and has a special place/task for you here?

It seems to me the opposite of arrogance to know that death is lack of consciousness, and there is nothing special awaiting you.

In my worldview, 'we'...(you,me,the guy in the other room, and all those who still, "ask'...) dont know anything, we decieve ourselves into thinking that 'this' is the truth, or 'that' may have actualy hapened...
The sad truth is, not many of us actually know...

so here we have the three contrasting theories...
There is a reason,
there aint a reason,
we dont freakin know if theres a reason or noy, stop asking...

Thats all I can offer

It is very small minded to think of the human being as a "thing", and rebellious and fearful to assume that the whole universe is not an interdependant whole within which we are already included.

Rebellious against what authority?

I'm not saying anything is wrong or right, just that statement struck me as odd.. It would seem a greater arrogance to assume we know anything.

While you both may be spot on in your religious beliefs, (I consider these religious beliefs), we have no proof. Saying that we know something about the universe and alleging that the entire thing is "interdependent" without a shred of evidence seems more arrogant to me than simply admitting we don't know a lick about the subject.

I'm open to new ideas, but to me it's arrogant to claim to be correct in your beliefs with nothing to prove them other than a gut feeling, or whatever.

Maybe we're a product of evolution? All things evolve and change over time, chemicals mix with chemicals in different environments to create life.. Maybe we're just the result of chance or an accident?

I'm content in the belief that when we die that's it.. Our bodies are absorbed back into the Earth. Our knowledge lives on in a way, but not by being reabsorbed into the so called "cosmic consciousness" but rather by being shared and living on through the legacy we leave after our deaths.

For the record, I'm not fearful. I've always been accepting of the inevitable. That's not to say that I wouldn't fear death and fight for life in a situation that warranted it, but it is to say I'm ready to meet whatever God or total blackness awaits me.

You are simply being honest to yourself. We really do know nothing for certain. In order to understand the interconnectedness of the universe, start with biology. Biology is like a fractal you can look at and extrapolate. It will never prove anything to you, but will give you something to ponder on. I suggest The Lives of a Cell by Lewis Thomas. This is an old book but it is filled with information that is incredible and is a hard book to put down once you get into it.
The gorgonacea is a sea feather type organism, when you place two of them in close proximity, one large and one small, the small one will die to give the large one room to expand. There is no eating, no killing, no outcompeting for resources, the smaller one just simply decides to die, its cells communicate the message all over until it fades away. It implies to me that the smaller one does not see the larger one as a separate creature, but rather as part of the same organism.

If your finger is brown after wiping, time to get more toilet paper.

All joking aside, can I ask what the term "Neoproverb" means? They are interesting and do ring a bell of truth, but what makes them a "Neo" proverb?

Just a catchy title is all. Do you have a better name for them? I'm open to suggestions. I think someone already wrote a book of proverbs so I didn't want to cause any confusion.

Thanks for taking the time to comment

YES! I love your toad proverbs! This was really the objective of my post, to get others to post their wisdom. I never expected so much of it though, I will take my time to read and ponder these poignant memes!

Perhaps it is relevant that "what we know" is itself, part of the universe. But, how can we "know" "what we know" fully in what is, for all intents and purposes, an infinitely divisible universe? In extracting from that and funneling it down to our finite perspective, we inevitably put ourselves in a position of "not knowing," caused by chosen exclusion in ones perspective. But only if that is the the single part of our perspective we choose to acknowledge and reside in, excluding even what observes "what we know." Even if it is only sourced in our physical bodies in their entirety.

Maybe embracing, and falling into ("being"), "what one knows" as just our own part of the canvas we are all creating, leads a perspective towards actively moving and making the art consciously. Instead of a shift caused by contemplation, it is one caused by an active experiential change in how we perceive and interact with the environment around us, ever growing.. Not sitting back only watching, thinking, but also standing up and walking in the picture we are viewing. We become what we already are. Bit of a paradox, but I suppose all paradoxes are a matter of limited perspective. Refer to first paragraph
Hows that for circular reasoning?

We are what we are, but can we become and be that?

I enjoy what you are doing here on ATS Memetic. I appreciate it and thank you.

Thank you for your vote of appreciation my friend. I feel a bit like a child of a scientist hanging out in the lab with his dad. Everyone's minds are so incredibly experienced and racing with information and new discoveries, it is very intimidating. It means the world to me when one of them takes the time express appreciation for my feeble attempts at contribution.

You are very welcome

And stop that
You know more than you think, we all do. What we search for is already there as a part of us, and us a part of it. But its more than our thinking! What we say can carry the weight of the universe, whether or not that is perceived by us.

No matter where I go, it is just one big circle that brings me right back to where I "was." Ideally, with a larger perspective on what was going on all along! I see it as an orbit of sorts, like a planet around a star. Perhaps powered by "free will" instead of what we understand as "gravity" for the planetary bodies. Being and focusing on the movement, instead of the starting/end point, may just be the way to go

To maintain that I actually AM on topic, I feel everything I have said is a NeoProverb to myself.
Who knows, it may help you, just as your words have helped me. Or even one of the many lurkers on the site.

I commend you on actually growing, there are so few. Thank you.

Hmm, nice thread. A light-hearted brake from the NWO threads and Lizards and what not. I've got a little proverb of my own that'll fit here, well, more of a prayer.

"Whatever you are
Wherever you might be
I thank you for what you've given me"
