I won?

I think the title got clipped from "You won't believe it!" It's a lovely picture, but I wish they told us they were going to take it; I would have combed my hair more carefully.

I'm sure you'll be notified eventually by someone. But anyway ....can you post my photo? I seem to be doing something wrong.

The "photo," you posted was not taken from Mercury...clearly states this in the paragraph describing the picture...

Obligatory 2nd line...

And thank you afterwards as well. I had always pictured the moon as being much smaller in relation to the earth and much further away.

Oh....you're right. I hope the folks on Mercury don't take offense.

Thanks OP. S&F
Fantastic photograph thanks for sharing.

Makes all human greed, conflict, hate and bigotry seem very stupid indeed.
How vulnerable we all are,
and how majestic the cosmos is.

It says it was taken at a distance that would be equivalent to the distance of Mercury. So basically.... this is the view from Mercury.

Looks close from far away but probably if they would of taken another picture close.People would of been like damn.

It's not as close as that picture portrays. If the moon is in front or behind the earth it will look close because you are looking at it on almost a straight line.

Now look at it from the side.

This image of Earth (on the left) and the moon (on the right) was taken by NASA's Juno spacecraft on Aug. 26, 2011, when the spacecraft was about 6 million miles (9.66 million kilometers) away. It was taken by the spacecraft's onboard camera, JunoCam. The solar-powered Juno spacecraft lifted off from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida on Aug. 5 to begin a five-year journey to Jupiter. Image credit: NASA/JPL-Caltech

That photo is amazing. It makes you wonder, if a civilization out there somewhere could look through a telescope and see that, what would they think? Would they think, hey there could be life on that planet. Or would they think, that planet's moon is too close , or too big, so there is no way there could be life on that planet.
