ATS 2.0 moving along

Quick update for those following along.

The new ATS site is functioning very well on the new server. We're moving toward a cut-over some time this month. There may be a brief service interruption of some aspects of this site, but hopefully, nothing serious.

If all goes well, there should be no interruption of post history or user accounts. All message threads will be moved to the new forum, and all user accounts will function as they do here.

One major improvement behind a higher-performance infrastructure is an integrated chat feature. Now, when you log into the ATS site, you'll be able to see who's chatting, just as you can see who's online.

Also, if you have an abovetopsecret.com e-mail address, you will be receiving an e-mail message informing you of your new password, along with information on how to change passwords in your e-mail client if you need some help. Also, e-mail accounts on the new server will enjoy SPAM Assassin filtering and Mail Scan virus protection. We'll also have a web-based e-mail client for those who want to use it.

Over the coming months, we'll be working on even more new features and improvements for ATS. Watch this space for more announcements.

Hold off on asking for the new e-mail accounts until we move the server over. Once the new system is in place, we'll have a way to request new [email protected] e-mail accounts. We'll also have a web-based e-mail client available soon.

it's not going to be one of those everyone.net email services, is it? hehe
anyway... it seems like you guys have been working hard on this... can't wait to finally see it for myself!

Registered ATS forum members of at least a two star status will be able to request a free virus-scanned and SPAMassassined e-mail account.

i as a member of the ats community would like to think i can speak for pretty much everyone when i thank you and everyone involved in this project with an astronomical level of gratitude. this isn't just sucking up either. (gives everyone a shiny rock) freedom like none other is being promoted, where we can all come from the world over and discuss our views without being criticized, (much) about our point of view. if i knew anything about technical stuff, i'd help out as much as i could, and if there is anything i could do, hell i'm here.
