Well, Uranus is in the Milky Way so it would make it easy to probe. A least you don't have to cross the Crab nebula.

I propose that NASA sends these guys to investigate and discover what is going on with Uranus.

Look at the size of those two Hasselblads!

I did add pics of Uranus to the OP.

Another good point as to why I'm not willing to probe Uranus. What if it's surface is all pitted, cratered and horrible scarred?

I'm just saying "Pics or it didn't happen!"

I'm not here to deny what people have stated about Uranus, I just think that someone in the scientific community might have some pics!

What about Phage!!!??? He always knows about this kinda stuff!

Call the commissioner and have him flash the Phage signal!

Slayer, get your head in the game. It's for the sake of science. Uranus needs to be probed....don't be so superficial.

You're right I do hope Phage will post on Uranus. He really does have a strong depth of understanding of these issues. Maybe he knows how rough the surface of Uranus could be and how much protection we would need to probe it. I can imagine that even though it is not very hot Uranus may be quite hostile to foreign intrusion.

So what are people advocating here?

A consorted effort by the various international space agencies to repeatedly gang probe Uranus?

Well, the article did say:

Dr Arridge, who is pushing for a joint NASA-ESA mission to Uranus

I wonder who will get there first? Getting there second is not as good. And what about the moons?

I love Uranus!

One of my favourite places! All big and shiny and round!
In my opinion,Uranus hasnt been probed nearly enough!

very intresting find
its amazing the things you can find when the probes are sent in, i hope nasa or other decide to investigate this light shining from Uranus even if it is a mundane thumping of a meteor that created the said Uranus anomaly. There are so many pics of the other planets and moons and not enough pics or investigations of Uranus, thanks for sharing

Also: AWESOME discovery.

it would be better to understand Uranus first before probing anything that lingers outside of it, imo

I think I heard that the Chinese are sending a probe to Uranus.
They have plans on claiming Uranus before anyone else can.

Studies show that by 2040 China will be the biggest consumer of the resources of Uranus.
Come on America! Get in the game! We really don't want to be in second place on this one!

Well, according to some people, the spots on Uranus is due to steadily building pressure of gas in and arround Uranus. Winds from Uranus will blow strong.

You are brave, scobro. Not too many people would admit that so freely in a public forum.

Is that a ring around Uranus?

Maybe it would be wrong to probe and exploit Uranus. I wonder how powerful a thruster you would need to hit it? Would there be a lot of friction on entry?
