Hey, thats a Roland SH101 "keytar". Such a legendary machine it still pops up in modern video clips.

Been listening to a lot of old synth stuff recently - Ultravox, Gary Numan, Kraftwork, Duran Duran, Yellow Magic Orchestra, etc... Probably because I'm currently building my own analogue synth.

Not really "synthpop" but my favorite recently is the instrumental Astradyne, by Ultravox...

Vince Clarke was in Depeche Mode before joining Alison Moyet to form Yazoo.
