Ive been watching that show on history channel "Ancient Aliens" and i think they are really onto something here..they provide some very interesting evidence of what the aliens left behind or may have left behind which are amazing structures that even today cannot be built by hand its impossible! as many historians believe
Maybe our ancestors saw something they thought to be of god or his angels? but they were probably ET's i remember reading an encounter from someone who lived in the 1500's where he says a golden bird descended from the heavens and as it came it quickly vanished

the guys on Ancient aliens tell it so much better =
oh and they even prove how there are landing sites for someone or something who might have used it a long time ago and they also give incredible pictures to back up their theories

if you think my grammar sucks you should go look at yahoo answers.

Your assignment for this next week is to count how many times words and phrases like "maybe", "possibly", "could be", "I think", "is it possible(?)", "probably". "is there a chance", and other similar speculative words and phrases are used in one single episode of your shoosing.

Further, you must compare the engineering and structural principals used in modern day technology vs. ancient engineering techniques to explain Giorgio Tsoukalos's totally epic hair.

you should really read that alien interview by Matilda O'Donnell MacElroy. Some believe it is bologny made up by Scientologist but i believe it has some credibility and makes some sense.

ive had a theory going for YEARS about this very subject. it only makes logical sense that all deities in religion (jesus, mohammad, buddha etc etc) were all aliens. the theory is backed up by numerous (and i mean NUMEROUS) reports from abductees and people with close encouters that aliens came to this planet in very early times and helped establish a way of life for very early man. think about it, when all religions were established, man really had no bounds or guidelines to live life by. every religion basically sets up the same philosophy in that each religion is meant to teach you how to live life as a good person and accept those around you.

personally i feel that thru the years, we have lost the message of acceptance completely and too many religious folks out there are too concerned with "converting" others and that if you dont believe in their "god", you are to be damned.

but yeah, even the simplest technology we take for granted today would be considered "godlike" to folks a few thousand years ago. just think about how you would be bowed down to if you brought a bic lighter back with you

*OH MY GOODNESS!!! HE MADE FIRE FROM HIS HAND!!! HE MUST BE A GOD!!!*

even the simplest technology that aliens had made them superior in the eyes of early humans...and im sure they already had a "basic" system in that was handed off to humans to help us live our day to day lives (hence religion). and im sure that someone got the notion in their heads that "they" will be watching us and "judging" us, which prolly turned from a "they" into a "god"

if you pay attention to the show, they dont provide any proof. if they did, then the ancient alien theory would be more widely accepted. that being said, they do provide a lot of possabilities and raise a lot of questions.
i am a big fan of the show and beleive that what they are saying is indeed a possability but try not to get carried away and remember that it is a tv show seeking ratings and as such are going to manipulate certain things in order to achieve those ratings

If you are religious then you believe in aliens..

There's really no way around it.

Tracing the question back to the Ancient Sumerians, Egyptians and Indian cultures, their writings describe aliens and their behaviors very clearly. They also refer to those beings from the stars as their “gods.” The Ancient Sumerian and Sanskrit writings of India describe quarreling, fighting, jealousy, obsessive sexual activity and other unseemly behaviors of their “gods.” The attitudes and actions of many ancient gods would appear to represent personality or character flaws like childish anger, vindictiveness, control and harsh punishments. Certainly Jehovah was very controlling often using black & white terms like sin vs. righteousness or eternal life vs. eternal death. IMO; yes I do believe that aliens were the foundation for our belief in a God or a Supreme Being. One book that clearly outlines that hypothesis is R. A. Boulay’s, “Flying Serpents and Dragons.” Here’s a link to the on-line version - www.bibliotecapleyades.net...

The only reason why us humans believe in god in my opinion is because they came from the skies and helped us in our early days to build stuff like the pyramids.

This is evident all over the place with inscriptions and drawings especially in Egypt.

Even though I believe in the possibility of Aliens and the like, I doubt they created the whole "God" thing. IMO we live in a spiritual existence which has a wide variety of realities.

There was a beginning and there will be an ending.

I'll let God take the drivers seat

Or maybe they took advantage of the ancient already existing religions.
The ancient alien deities theory is fascinating but ultimately impossible to prove.

SERIOUSLY! I used to own the super uber version of Stargate on dvd (which had ONE special feature in the Special Features menu) and he commentated for a bit and his hair looked normal. Is he hiding something? Tumor? Antennae? 3rd arm? Or did he buy a convertible and lose the top? If you ask me, his hair is the biggest conspiracy of all and should have its own thread on ATS. All jokes aside, that show is very entertaining but if you see one episode you've seen them all, just like the bigfoot show, all 8 ghostbuster shows, and MASH. But yeah I watch every episode. Of all those shows.

Not me, I can no longer stomach it.

But I do have the same DVD you mention, and it's weird to see that crackpot looking almost normal.
