how much debt do you have?
how much interest on that debt? what % is it? is that fair?
send your kid to college now and watch her struggle to obtain a job, and cant pay back her student loan,
(or pay it back for years and years)
look at pilots nowdays making 16 dollars per hour, and paying a 100,000 loan back) what is this a 3rd world country? school should be NO COST, why isnt it? banks greed etc.
by the way i never went to college and i smoke pot every day as well what have you to say to a successful person who does that?

Now who's talking about BS? I roomed with two other people in the cheapest place we could find, and we still went hungry at times. I don't know what world you live in, but if $7 an hour can raise a kid there, I wanna go! I made $10 an hour at that time.

It sure did. Perhaps you missed the part of my post where I said I was making more money now. Nothing out of this world, but enough to get by.And to make sure she has what she needs.

I don't have employment issues, but if I did, I would not work for Mcdonalds. By the time you drive there, you make so little that the first 4 hours of your shift cover the trip to work, and the last 4 cover the trip home. That's the problem!

There is the problem. Why wouldn't you work for mcdonalds? It's money coming in is it not? Would you rather spend your time on the streets like these clowns? Instead of making money? See,that's my point.

The problem working at mcdonalds is because of the massive corp greed and profits that mcdonalds feels that they need to make purely because of stock holders want to make profits from mcdonalds.... They pay such a small wage that unless you live next door to mcdonalds and really even then... your paycheck for a standard worker because they usually will not allow you to work overtime forcing you to have a second job and might I add that they will usually not work with you on the scheduling so that its easier for you to have a second job....

You make just enough to cover the gas/maint on your car to get to works, the insurance you have to pay to use that car, the money you have to spend to eat while you are out for work because even if you decided to eat mcdonalds nasty food its not free so you get to pay them now, then lets not forget to add the state tax, federal tax, and SS tax, and anything else they decide to throw in there...

So after I get done working my 35hr a week min wage job at mcdonalds, then I figure out how to get another min wage paying job that can work with my non flexible mcdonalds schedule... so after my 70hr a week working I should bring home about a good lets say $200 a week after taking out all the costs that I have to pay to be able to work at mcdonalds and the other job.....

So lets see I have phone bill because I have to have a phone so they can call me into work (for those of you who see a phone as something a person does not have to have) god forbid you want to talk to your family who does not live close by or your friends....

Then we have food, yes we do have to eat and assuming I do not have kids because if I did I would probably have to have a 3rd job so that I could actually feed them...

We have rent... mine is $850 a month, $150 month electric, $60 internet, water included free with rent, and since I am always late with rent there is a $50 late fee, along with late fees from electric and internet because I can't make enough each month to pay my $1600 a month in bills on the first

Then lets say I have a medical issue which I do that requires me to pay $200 every time I have to go see the doctor but since i do not have that I have to go to the emergency room and they put that on my credit and send it to collections... Well I also have prescriptions that I have to pay for because you can't get those for free so lets add in those..They are roughly $23 a week for one and the other is $97 a month....

Now after all that work and all of that time and effort at the end of the month I am left with nothing, actually I come up to less then othing because I am always in debt every month....

But wait lets back track, I spent almost 8 years going to college and i cannot find a job in my field even a low paying job for what I went to school for, because companies and government are outsourcing jobs to other countries or doing away with them all together because the money can be better spend on war or bailouts...

But yah just go get a job and stop complaining, mcdonalds is always hiring new slaves...

I'm old enough to realize that these people have no idea what they're protesting

Are you old enough to realize that regardless of whether they know what they are protesting, they still have a right to protest?

Sounds you're a good little worker bee.
It's not going to get any better, and complaining to the people that are willing to stand up for you isn't going make them move.

No debt. I've avoided college, credit cards, car loans.Save my money and didn't blow it. And I'm doing just fine. Not my problem you or all these 'ows' protesters arent. right. It's the banks fault you chose to get that card..or to take out that loan.

They are protesting corporate greed.

Corporate greed is directly responsible for many of the awful things that we see happening every day globally. So yes, to suggest that the whole thing is 'bs' is completely ignorant. And to basically say that they are lazy hippies without jobs (the basic gist of what you're saying) is just offensive. I have been to the protests in my city, and guess what? I have a job, I pay taxes and am pretty clean cut. I find your sentiments to be very ignorant and I hate to say it but rather immature and superficial.

I can understand the whole corporate greed thing. And I stand by what I said. They're mostly dirty hippies, who don't work. Don't pay taxes. Sit and smoke weed all day...then want to complain they can't find work. Obviously you're the exception and you seem to take my words personally. So obviously I've hit a nerve. Perhaps you know I'm right.

And who are you to say that? That is just a blatant generalization, one that is very superficial. Dirty hippies who don't have jobs? How old are you? You seem to have a very limited scope....

You haven't hit nerve with me at all, I just don't like people who throw out this kind of rubbish and expect me to take it on board, you're perpetuating a very limited viewpoint that is not helping anyone but yourself, in your state of understanding that is in my view, incredibly immature, limited and superficial.

I'm old enough to realize that these people have no idea what they're protesting. Except to intefere with my and everyone other honest working persons life.I don't owe these people anything. Take it washington dc.And stay out of my way and let me live my life. I owe you nothing.Nor am I the reason for your protest.

What on earth are you talking about? No one EVER said we think you owe us anything, unless you're a billionaire that is, in which case you owe us A LOT.

Yes,I am. Of course they do. This is America. What they don't have a right to do is interfere with my day. And if I was to punch/smack one of them I'd be the one arrested.

About a week ago I was listening to WGBH, the public radio station here. They interviewed the occupy Boston movement's spokesperson. He said their purpose was to implement a full socialist revolution and his "deputy" would regularly chime in and call for a violent socialist overthrow. If you would like to hear the interview, I'm sure its out there in cyberspace. I'll take a look and post it up.

Anyways, the two vocal sides in this issue both need to be careful of what they wish for because they might just get it.

Honey, I just bought a Jeep with 44 inch tires on it this summer, turned it around on a 2011 Harley Sportster in a trade, have my 2009 Mini Cooper paid for, and my 2002 'vette paid for by Christmas. Quit making unfounded assumptions. I know how the corporate world works, and it's NASTY.

In my view, the issue is not just that McDonalds doesn't pay big bucks, but that we have lost our manufacturing base, and and have become increasingly primarily service oriented. There are high tech jobs but for some reason people aren't trained well enough for them....something to think about.

I'f there not seriously bothering you then what's the problem dude?

Stand aside and let them do as they think is right. Everybody and there grandmother has had it hard, and as a fact I think in a lot of ways this generation actually has it harder in some ways then the past generation. But I also think they have it easier in other ways, but every generation will have there problems. In fact you might as well make that a law of the universe, and put it down in stone, because it's been consistent with every generation to different degrees. And I don't think it will change any time soon.

But really... So what! for every person that says he has crawled out of some gutter, there are as much, or many more who have not, if you cant help and don't have an answer. Then get the hell out the way, and if you cant take the heat, get your ass out the kitchen. Ever hear this expression "too many cooks in the kitchen"

But quit trying to bring them down or make light of if, because its not. Appearances are deceiving, and in what is going on these days in the world there is a lot more then meets the eye, much more then previous generations who wallowed in there ignorance blissfully. With there hopes and dreams. Some do not even have that.
