Hey there ATS,

While I do not consider myself to be a conspiracy theorist, much of my family are conspiracy theorists, and they repeatedly tell me that I'm "denying the truth," or some such. I'm still very much skeptical, but I've decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and check out this community.

As for myself, I'm a woman barely of of my teens who lives by Lake Erie. I'm an amateur astronomer, aspiring biomedical engineer & a fan of series like Mass Effect and Metal Gear Solid. Also, The Room.

Yup, that's me!

Well met, friend.

While skepticism is a healthy thing, just be sure not to push it far enough to shut down any fair appraisal of things that may challenge your beliefs or conventional knowledge.

That being said, glad to have you aboard. I myself am eagerly awaiting ME3, and realizing how true it is that tomorrow never comes - or at least is seems like next March certainly won't.

Take care.

Welcome to ATS. Right off the bat I'm going to guess you're down with Nibiru-type conspiracies? What an enigma.

I must be nice being in a family of alternative truth believers, I've tried talking to my family about a whole of slew of these things and it seems to be a waste of breath - but I feel compelled to inform them anyway, sometimes it's just better playing video games.

At least consider yourself lucky in the sense that you have a family willing to talk about fringe topics.

Welcome to Ats and hope to see you around the boards, take care.

I give most things a fair chance, but there are some things that I can't help but to shake my head at - for example, the Alien Blood/Katy Perry/Matrix conspiracy thread I recently participated in. But truthfully, I would love to come across some real evidence for UFOs.

If by down with you mean believing in, no. I find Planet X/Nibiru to be one of the more 'out there' conspiracies.

A shame your family doesn't like to discuss these things. Even though I find a lot of the conspiracies to be a little... weird, to put it nicely, an open mind is better than a mind that won't even bother. (If that makes sense. Probably doesn't, I'm terrible at explaining.)
