So allowing graphic videos of a dead Gaddafi to surface on the YouTube would seem to have the same impact as Osama's video wouldn't you think? Not according to the white house apparently...

Just because the Libyan rebels released the videos via cell phones rather quickly doesn't mean that the US gov't couldn't have gotten on top of that one rather quickly. It's already all over the news.

Something about these two stories are rather, contradictory Don't ya think!

Well, we killed Osama and the rebels killed Gaddafi.

I can kinda see both sides of the argument.

OBL can' be shown because h was a martyr and it would inspire others to blow up stuff and become martyrs. The problem with this is they KNOW he's dead, but without proof he's Schrodinger's terrorist. He is dead because they told us and he isn't dead because we have no proof. Why would we doubt the story? Well we know the government lies to us CONSTANTLY and how many times have we heard OBL died before the actual big caffufle that he did actually die?? If you look it up he's died multiple times. I wouldn't be surprised if he made a new video and was like look it was a double LULZ I WINZ!!

The martyr explanation is such BS. Al'qCIAda confirmed he was dead and announced the new leader. Not showing photos isn't going to avoid him becoming a martyr. They didn't kill him that day. Thats the easiest and best explanation to the series of events that took place before and after.

We didn't release any video or pictures when Gaddafi died. We didn't take any, nor were we even there.

Um, no.

The White House have nothing to do with these pictures or their release. The U.S.A isn't the center of the world, ya know!

Of course, because OBL wasn't killed or he was already dead.
I am curious though...it seems a lot of events around the world tend to fall on the days between the 19th and 21th. Do these days have any significance to them? Are they sacraficial days?

This seems to be another one of those "Let's make a mountain out of a mole hill" threads!

As "Cuervo" pointed out:

we killed Osama and the rebels killed Gaddafi

Contrary to what many ATSers seem to feel, the United States is NOT in control of everything that happens in this "Ole World"! Nor is the United States responsible for all of it's ills!

Osama bin Laden was a CRIMINAL that planned "mass murders"! He was far from being a "martyr"! If anything, he was a heretic! If there is a God, I'm SURE He wouldn't condone the killing of innocent people in His name.

See ya,
Milt

Your all missing the point. I am asking, why this video is allowed to go viral around the media, while OBL's video was declared too gruesome. We didn't even get to see his alleged funeral

IMO, I don't think there was any footage of OBL, because he wasn't killed on that day.

Are you somehow under the impression that the White House decides which cell phone videos from Africa are allowed to go viral in the world media and which are not? How would they do that? Or that Libyans are somehow bound to a "White House video release policy?" I do not see where the disconnect is--the US government had the video of OBL's death, and decided not to release it. The US government did not have the video of Gaddafi's death, and had no power or authority to withhold or release it.

You have the mind of a child if you think you're making any sort of analogy. Get a clue.

The difference is simple - you have to be (1.) real and/or (2.) alive and then captured and killed to have a death photo released.

No doubt Ghadaffi was an authentic human being. Like Saddam.

A bloody graphic message from the bankers to world leaders.
Just try and have your own monetary system and this is what we will do to you.

Definitely.
Wonder what happened the gold, property, and money he was sitting on? I can only imagine. I get this vision of a fat guy in a top hat dividing up monopoly money between the players.

Well then why weren't more videos of Osama's destruction released? I am sure other people in the area would have had cameras. When a real story breaks these days, there are multiple videos and images to either confirm or deny the things that happened.

Thats what I was getting at, the two theories of why we didn't get to see him. The MSM said it was because he'd be seen as a martyr, yet Al CIAda seen him as a martyr anyway,

The only way they won't show the photos is because dun dun duuuunnnn there are no photos. Simple he died in 2001 - 2002, i think he was buried in an unmarked grave. How else could they explain the "we killed him and stuck him in the sea next to Megatron"
