Spent the first day of the new year in The City. Winter days in San Francisco are generally better than in Summer; less fog and, oftentimes, warmer temps.

Here are some of my nature photographs.

Bird voiced tree frog. This frog lived at my house all summer. Strange as they are not usually in this area

A cicada my kids found on the side of the house at 10pm. It was still wet and unable to fly

I will be honest with these two shots because of one thing and one thing only. They were lucky shots.

Now keep in mind that Amtrak in the above picture is moving along at about sixty to sixty-five miles an hour.

This is my pick puppy from my November whippet litter. There was a black and white split faced female that was a bit nicer, but, she has gone to a home that will not only show her extensively, but oval track race, lure course and even try her hand at tracking. This one grabbed my heart at birth and I chose her then, not knowing if she was going to turn out to be show quality(she is)

She will make her show ring debut in May and will start going lure coursing with her Momma, who loves coursing more than anything

She has crazy puppy ears going on and is in the process of filling in the eye pigment like the left eye. These puppies look nothing like whippets when they are born. By 5m, they look like an adult.

Cool picture! I remember finding those little hollow exoskeleton bodies around when I was in Florida...pretty weird.

oh yeah...digital imaging software is a real kick! I wish I had the time to do more with mine, in terms of understanding all that can be done with it. Nice job on the aged look, especially the contrast difference in the upper corner.

Here is one of my favorites from an earlier post...I was going for the 1940's color/tint postcard look:
