Looks like the typical kind of effect you get when you zoom in on a distant light .. atmosphere causes variations in color and light, plus the camera isn't able to focus at that distance so you get a blur which makes it look like it's a different shape than it probably is ..

Atmospheric refraction is in play.. Atmospheric refraction is what makes stars appear to twinkle

Very cool video. Too bad it's so low res.
I have no idea what that might be.
I find videos only focusing on the object without giving any perspective of its movement or size rather pointless tho.
Could you add more details about the sighting? Where did you find the vid, on the site you linked?

Swamp Gas? Weather Balloon? Lens Blur? Haha...

It looks interesting. I have no idea what it could be. What's the history of the video? Where in NY was it filmed?

That looks like something on the lens. It would be nice if it wasn't but even if it was anything, the video is so poor we wouldn't know it.

yeah, ok..

Dirt on a lens.

I see the same pulsations and it looks so identical to it.

Looks more like a hamster running in a ball.

How ignorant can we be to give this thing two stars? Is it like an "a" for effort? I guess, if this was this member's first day we could possible overlook (although in in this day an age I would expect even an idiot to be able to use a camera), but this member...he/she knows better by now....so that leaves very few reasons for posting such utter crap, and none of them paint the op in a good light.

What's the words I'm looking for here...oh yeah, Troll or Useless Idiot. Take your pick.

So what. Other people are interested. If your not, then don't bother reading his thread.
Your just jealous because you weren't able to capture it that close.

Interested in a PURPOSEFULLY filmed OUT OF FOCUS light? My goodness has this subject DEVOLVED since the advent of higher technology. Shame, I thought it would have gone the other way.

A four minute of with no description of a .........

It isn't even clear that it's in the sky , no reference points just an out of focus thing that could be anything but is probably nothing , it looks like a bead from a necklace but is more than likely just an out of focus light .
