Obama's Teleprompter, Podium Stolen in Va.

A van containing President Obama's teleprompter and podium were stolen from a Virginia hotel parking lot on Monday, according to NBC12 in Richmond.
The truck was parked at the Virginia Center Commons Courtyard Marriott near Richmond before the president's scheduled Wednesday appearance in Chesterfield, the station reported. In addition to the teleprompter, $200,000 worth of audio equipment and presidential seals mounted on Obama's podium were inside the stolen vehicle.

They have recovered the van, but have not released details about what may or may not be missing..

This was clearly an Iranian plot.

Now how is the puppet suppose to perform without its strings? Who ever took it should hold it for ransom or take it down to where the protesting is going on and smash the crap out of it.

The Pesident has been rendered speechless.

He was last seen furiously scribbling notes on 3x5 cards.

All I can say is welcome to the club.
If it isn't padlocked and nailed to the floor somebody will steal it.
I had 2 cars and a bunch of music gear stolen during the 15 years I lived there.

Kudos to the prompter thieves!!

Although this incident is humorous, it is also VERY serious.

If someone was able to steal this van with these items, someone could just have easily broken into the van and planted items in or on the podium.

Probably not a bomb due to the bomb-sniffing dogs that the Secret Service uses, but someone could have applied a poison to the podium that would be absorbed through the skin when the president touches it.

I think someone in that security detail is in big trouuble.
