Odd mental image and thought...

Attaching a crudely drawn paintshopped image that has vividly shown up to me before, as if it's supposed to be significant somehow... it's pretty uninteresting and basic, but if it means anything to anyone, let me know. (imagine a brownish background, as that's how I visualized it.)

Also, a pretty odd instruction: "Go forth to the land of Abaddon." From what I understand, "Abaddon" is supposed to be something to do with the bottomless pit? Where is this "land" and why the heck would someone be instructed to go there?

That look like a UFO to me, it seems that some entities is contacting you for something important, do you live in California or any mayor city?

@ValentineWiggin, that is interesting. "Disordered intellect or confused mental state" pretty well nails me, and that is similar to the symbol I've visualized.

It's just something peculiar I was wondering about. The symbol just was odd, as that is the only specific symbol I've ever had come to me in a very vivid way.

I'm just as interested in the abaddon thing though... which is just, really weird. It sort of reminds me of years ago as a teenager when I used to be plagued with the 11:11 phenomenom--long before I was ever aware that other people experienced it, too.

If you get instructions, that is really what you must do - and I have no idea what you must do.

But I was told to spread the message of Ezekiel, who was a prophet - and I am trying to spread it - which is basically that God has totally had it with people - and I am getting no response, as you will, when and if you even discover what you are meant to be doing.

So why even bother? Here is why - if you have been given that burden, you have to carry it.

With me, it's just a very firm thought that suddenly planted itself in my mind one day out of nowhere. It wasn't so overwhelming that it freaked me out to the point of being frightened, but it was strong enough that I could tell it wasn't just some random or generic thought... and it's happened several times.

I don't actually pay a lot of attention to it, because it's just one of things that I don't feel like I'll ever really understand. If it is, in fact, an instruction... then I won't be following it. The "land of abaddon?" If there is such a place, it definitely doesn't sound like somewhere I want to go! That instruction was pretty clear though... which is kind of scary.

Abaddon (Hebrew: אֲבַדּוֹן‎, 'Ǎḇaddōn, Greek: Apollyon, Latin: Exterminans, Coptic: Abbaton, meaning "A place of destruction", "The Destroyer", "Depths of Hell") in the Revelation of St. John, is the king of tormenting locusts and the angel of the bottomless pit. The exact nature of Abaddon is debated, but the Hebrew word is related to the triliteral root אבד (ABD), which in verb form means "to perish."

Identifying Abaddon

The symbolism of Revelation 9:11 leaves the exact identification of Abaddon open for interpretation. Some bible scholars believe him to be the antichrist or Satan.

The International Bible Students Association (precursor to Jehovah's Witnesses) identified Abaddon as Satan in C.T. Russel's 1917 posthumous work. Jehovah's Witnesses now take the contrasting view, believing that Abaddon is another name of the resurrected and enthroned Jesus Christ.

@Human4life, I don't hear any voices; I just get intrusive thoughts sometimes that don't feel like my own. I haven't seen any strange lights in the sky--at least not since I was a kid; and then it was just the typical ufo sighting that most people have (a light in the sky that moved around a bit, then accelierated away faster than anything manmade could possibly fly).

@Curious7, no one else had that interpretation--just you, but it makes sense in an odd sort of way... maybe whoever/whatever has been trying to tell me to go to hell. That brings up another curious thought. After my father passed six-years ago, some months later I was in a chatroom and someone whom apparently was clairvoyant kept pestering me that they had a message for me, and they said the name of the person was my father's name. It was too uncanny to be random. At first I didn't want the message, because my father had hurt me. I gave in though and let her give me the message because she said he was bugging her to death... well, the message was "I have finally found peace, and I want you to find it too." I've always wondered if he really found peace or if he's in Hell and wants me to die so he can try to drag me down there with him.

TheCounselor said it up near your intial post and someone gave him/her a star for it too but even so, pretty crazy stuff.

Hopefully it's just nothing although I've had dreams where I've seen and heard something that just irritates me for days trying to figure it out.

Wouldn't think your dad is in Hell or wants you there too though, that message was probably just to make peace because bad feelings and such in life are ultimately worthless.

Maybe your issue with him when he was alive gave you a baseless and unending hatred (or similar words if too much/harsh) and that's what the "land of Abaddon" means? No clue if I'm honest.

I guess this all depends upon where you are! There is an Iroquois prophesy of the "Three Serpents" titled The Rainbow Prophesy. In this prophesy it is said that the new tribe, the Rainbow Tribe, will form in the "hilly" country. Most assume that is the Rocky Mountains. Even the badlands of South Dakota are incredible to behold and would be considered within that "hilly country" they once roamed.

In your search engine type in the word "Campground symbol" and you will probably see a variant of your dream symbology. Most of these signs are brown!

I would guess to say that you need to get to a "remote" natural setting, somewhere there are canyons or crevices which could support you though the coming __________ (fill in the blank).

The symbol would also mean that you should probably use your outdoor grill rather than your stove in case of home fire! (I made that up)

First, I should point out I'm not a practicing heath expert, which means I don't have a clinical license to practice medicine, or anything else. My background is pure research in several areas of the life sciences, formally in neurochemistry, psychopharmacology, and bio-informatics. A few other interesting areas as well. But what you describe, purely speaking as an "amateur" on the subject of clinical behavioral psychology, is a command suggestion, or compulsion as you put it, and that need not present as the classic "the voices told me to". It can be an overwhelming sense of a need to act, and not know why. Either way, both are usually not good. The fact you state "your scared of this or that" tells me you have a sense of right and wrong, and as someone who wants to solve all the worlds secrets, and don't dismiss those who express themselves in ways I don't grasp, the fact you have the sense of Good/Not Good is a very important place to start.

Frankly, I wish I could offer a suggestion but not knowing who you are as a person, to my knowledge we've never met, any evaluation beyond first ruling out certain clinical issues (It's not an insult or IN ANY WAY an attempt to minimize what you experienced.) But in all good conscious, its a good place to start. We do have in my view the capacity to perceive things that are not with-in the linear thinking of most current clinical methods. And to define such things as feelings, well you may have heard such things can't be defined because there subjective. Subjective? What isn't? It's all based on using our individual ways of sorting through the "noise".

But if what you felt compelled to write down, draw what symbol you saw, I honestly see no harm in that. If others can offer there insight, fine. That's the only way each of us can learn after all is to listen and take what you like, and ignore the rest.
