Really, the .38 spl ? best pocket handgun ?

you are aware that a barrel full of arms companies now make pocket .357magnums, 357sigs,9mm, 10mm, .40, .45 calibers..............right?

The op said nothing about the "best" pocket pistol. He simply stated what he himself carried as "his" preferred pocket pistol.
you sir, then saw fit to to inform him how with your extensive knowledge in ballistics and real world experiences, how under armed he was.

just to keep you up to date, the best pocket pistol on the planet is the one you have in your pocket.

but, whatever..............

Take a walk in the woods. Figure what your rout would be and what the hell take a walk about a mile in the woods. Find a nice area where you can store your goods and pack a lunch/bag you know what I mean.

Mace works good if you cannot afford a piece or are unable to obtain one.

If you can obtain one I would and get to the range and start practicing first you still have alot to learn before your ready to venture out and survive off the land for a day or 2 trying to get back but home.

I know it would take me more than a day with a slow shuffle above walking speed but then again that is me.
