Yes let's all act submissively and obediently. We are dogs that must obey their masters. We must stay within the laws, whilst TPTB act outside of them.

There is nothing to see here people, please go back to your Reality T.V, Your Government knows best, knows what's good for you.

Well, you can take this line, or you can wake up, get off your knees and relaise the Lion sleeps NO more. We are many they are few. Peaceful non compliance, no need for violence.

Sure they will intimidate, provoke and belittle.

Then they will realise we are serious and have had enough of the BS they are feeding us.

Occupy goes Global October 15th. Get out there, let your voice be heard, let them know we will not stand for it anymore. Peace to all.

I just wanted to say to the author...
I'm proud of you

I remember you were in another thread asking some very serious quesions that were of interest but, off topic. I'm just glad to see that you started your own topic/thread which I am in the process of reading now.

Be back later to give input but still, good for you.

Peace

ETA

That's cool..but there is a catch! You have the right to assemble and free speech but under certain laws these liberties are inhibited to this:
"Wherever three or more persons assemble with intent or with means and preparations to do an unlawful act which would be riot if actually committed, but do not act toward the commission thereof, or whenever such persons assemble without authority of law, and in such a manner as is adapted to disturb the public peace, or excite public alarm, such assembly is an unlawful assembly." So in short: no violence....no harrasing pedestrians...no burning/stealing or any act against local/state law...and if the police says you cant be there you gotta go.
When it comes to your speeches at these protest be mindful of how you say things because it can get you shut down. The government has the right to legitimately restrict any order of speech that are considered: fighting words, incites illegal activity, obsenity and pornography, commercial speech, symbolic expression or subversive speech.
...Well that kinda takes most the fun out of protesting...

Okay, so now that I have read your post, I would like to add that although a protest is supposed to be peaceful in all manners concerned, the "authorities/police" have a huge responsibility to not incite violence of any type as well. With this being said, there have been a few instances where the "authorities" have done the exact opposite and created the very environment that was to be avoided. Once this happens IMO, the protestors have two options:

1. Leave the area
2. Stay and argue, get beaten or jailed

Now, to me it would seem unethical for an officer(s) of the law to "cause" or "inflict unwarranted or uneccesary violence/harm" upon any human being protesting. It appears that in some of the OWS locations, some citizens were not treated in a legal or human manner...meaning, the protestor(s) did not do anything that warranted being jailed or beaten. Unless, the protestor(s) have stated that they intend to cause harm to a public official, officer of the law or the Government etc., it shouldn't matter what they say IMO as long as they stay within the perimeters of free speech (what exactly are the perimeters for freedom of speech?). That's why they are protesting in the first place...to be heard.

So there is a huge amount of resposibility that falls into the hands of the law as the same goes for the protestors.

Great Thread SnF

Ok one theme that keeps being beat to death I see is this...
People are upset with the TPTB because they are getting what they want by skirting the law but noone has a problem doing the same thing to get what they want. This philosphy is not going to get us anywhere but continueing the cycle. Two wrongs does not make a right. If this movement were to proceed in this manner and subvert the system it would only create a system that a future group will come in and use the same tactics to overthrow the new shady system. Its a never ending cycle. Something has got to change that will shake us to the bone and create a new way of thinking. Pride and greed got us here. Pride and greed will bring us back again. I really dont know what else to say, I just know this is not the way.

Thank you very much for your compliment and for your positive input on the situation. I am begining to loose serious intrest in this movement as is seems the only option in the end is going to be violence. I get that...its foolish to think a revolution can occur without it. Key word in revolution...revolt...to oppose or stand against. Violence only begats violence...so yay!...recycle the hate for the future to reuse. Useless.

I agree with you there. Things have got to change. Cyberspace is a new area, it is a seperate space outside natural laws and laws need to be regulated for it specificly. We need to utilize the system we have to create a new system that is stable. You cant dump it all at once or you would not have a structure to uphold the new system. I could be wrong there, but I have enough intelligence to be open for debate and insight if you or anyone else are willing to suggest.

Star for your enthusiasm but what do you plan to occupy if you burn what is with anarchy? You will just recreate the same system.

Bingo...you hit the nail on the head, "Violence begets violence"! How do you suppose that will end? It's all one seriously huge dilemma...all of it. From the wars, to the economy, education, health etc. Where and when does it all end...the violence and protesting, when and who determines what's fair? We can't live like this for very long, especially if things continue to fail around us...something's gotta give.

See the problem considering a resolution to just one of these issues? Everybody wants change right now...It's not gonna happen right away. This mess is going to take time to clean up. It's gonna take decades, not months, weeks nor years.

We have to be diligent and patient and agree to sincerely work together and get something done.

I agree with you. However IMO, violence isn't the answer either.
