The Israeli government voted on Tuesday night on the deal to release kidnapped Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit. The vote came following a stormy meeting.

26 ministers supported the deal with only three – Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, Infrastructures Minister Uzi Landau, and Strategic Affairs Minister Moshe Ya’alon – voting against the deal.

As part of the deal, Israel will release hundreds of terrorist murderers in the coming days. Hamas has reportedly agreed not to release some arch-terrorists, including Marwan Barghouti; Abdullah Barghouti, serving 67 life sentences; Hassan Salameh, serving 38 life sentences; and Jamal Abu Al-Hijja, serving nine life sentences, all of whom are imprisoned for planning suicide bombings. Also reportedly not included in the deal is the killer of Israeli minister Rechavam Ze'evi, Ahmed Saadat.

Out of 450 prisoners that Israel agreed to release, 96 prisoners will return to their homes in Judea and Samaria and 14 will return to east Jerusalem. As well, 131 prisoners from Gaza will return to their homes, and six adult Israeli Arab prisoners will also return to their homes.

Out of 203 terrorists from Judea and Samaria, 40 terrorists will be taken to countries overseas and the others will be deported to Gaza.

This is pretty insane. Again, Israel is allowing themselves to get raped in negotations.

Hamas has been holding Gilead Shalith since the Gaza raid. Hamas has not complied with international law by allowing Red Cross to check up on Shalith. So first, we dont even know what mental state Shalith might be in (given Hamas' record for cruelty, to its own people, it could quite bad). We do know that he has been kept in a single cell without electricity or other basic needs.

In exchange hundreds of criminals go free. Amazing. Israel should just have entered Gaza and searched every single home to find Shalith before they left. This is pure exploitation, and Israel invites it.

The more i read your Middle eastern rants, the more i'm convinced, your really Lieberman.

Do you understand this is all part of the dynamic peacemaking process, its a step in the right direction at last, its not about who got the best deal, it about bringing relief and goodwill to a better working relationship, it also shows great maturity to the rest of the world on Israel part.

The men being released are convicted terrorists. Men who intensely hate Israel.

How will releasing these people bring peace? They are a cause for the lack of peace. How will releasing violent, radical islamic militants help the peace process?

There is simply no logic to that thinking.

Just like you intensely hate the palestinians ?

Its a vicious circle, that needs to be broken, i'm just thankfull, not everyone in the Israeli government has your attitude.

It amazes me how arrogant you are.

I dont intensely hate "palestinians". Before 1967 and arabs arrogated the term, Palestinians were a combination of Jews and Arabs. Over 50% of the inhabitants of Judea and Samaria (aka westbank) were Palestinian Jews.

I also cant believe you admit in your sig to being an operative at SIS. And your mood as "diabolocial". Its pretty hilarious, that the majority of posters here dont seem to notice that, isnt it? And yet youre posts get starred as if you arent writing what your writing as propaganda....

I love all people, i just sincerely hate and resent injustice. Thus, i hate the Arab leadersip, the arab league, fatah, hamas, PA, Abu Mazen, and people like you, who go around spreading lies......... You have no idea what youre doing (in a cosmic sense, that is) and what damage your doing to yourself.

Trading 1 man for 1000 criminals is a step in the right direction? What planet do you come from? Do you have any idea how many more innocent people are going to die for this trade? I was a correctional officer in my 20's, once you turn to a life of crime, it doesn't end until you die and the fact that these terrorists are extremist muslim will set them right back on the path to finish the suicide bombings they failed to complete before.
