In the KJV
Gen 1:27 - 2:7
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,
5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.
6 But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.
7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

As you see here there are 2 very differnt stories of creation. First in verse 1:27 God creates Male and female at the same time. Tells them to be fruitful and multiply, gives them dominion of the earth......etc. Then look at verse 5. there was not a man to till the ground. What happened? where did man go? Then comes the story that we are all familer with. Man created first from the dust, but notice it does not say created in Gods image. There are two completely sepreate stories about creation in the bible. ATS what I would like to know is which one do you believe.

Disclamier - This is obviously geared toward christians and christianity. And yes before anyone asks I do believe in God and Jesus just not how the bible says.

god created man and woman in his(?) own image
: or :
man woman bird whale elephant and god are all an emergent quality of the same truth.

"man created first from dust"
: or :
emerged from some other truth

woman = creativity
man = logic

its lost in translation

tho i personally believe that women bred men into what we currently are: way back.
bred us by the choices they made.

this is still a bit of an issue: all this new logic stuff.

kinda uncomfortable sometimes... in the way, u see?

needs ballance

Man started in heaven first. He was talking to all of creation at once in the first verse. Man didn't interact in heaven like the angels do, its just a placeholder until they come here.

Man was created first in spirit. Then he went down.

If that is true then why would God tell man to go fourth and multiply? That sounds an awlful like something you would say once they are already here.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

This does not seem like he is talking to all of creation. Actully it doesnt seem like he was talking to anyone. This seems a lot like action to me.

Chapter 1 gives the "headline" and chapter 2 goes into details. It's not too different than what newspapers do, they will make a headline and tiny snippet on page 1 and will add the juicy details in the remainder of the article on the next page.

Nothing in the Bible says that. In fact, Adam was created from the dust of the EARTH and God breathed the breath of life (spirit) into the dust.

There is a lot more information that was shared that's not included. Man comes down here at appointed times set forth by Father.

It is well known among scholars that the creation story (as well as all of the 5 books of "Moses") is a REconstruction of the original revelation that was given to Moses by God. The originals were lost and some parts of it were only preserved orally, while other parts were preserved in some writing. Some time between 700 BCE and 500 BCE these stories (now coming from northern and southern Kingdom) were combined into ONE story - thus we find almost everything as a double.
Yet, none of the stories were accurate or complete. They were constructions of MEN (most probably priests) who tried to write them as they could - and while doing so, injected many antropomorphisms in them (like God looking for Adam and Eve in the garden and asking "where they are" ...).

All this lead to the inevitable result we have today - a book comprised of 2 (or up to 4 for some books) sources, jumbled together in one writ - these, as the scholars know them, are the J, P, E and D sources - and they all have in common just one thing. NONE of them is the original revelation.

Bottom line - I have a hard time accepting ANY of the creation stories -- they both MIGHT have elements of the original revelations, but none of them has them ALL.

Yes, you wont have it in your bible. But, that is what took place. There is what people believe, and there is what is.
