Good on them, and I hereby lift a virtual glass in salute to the personnel of the Royal Navy!. Bravo Zulu!

Now, if we could just institute the traditional method for dealing with pirates...

Rope.
Yardarm.
Pirate.

Some assembly required.

I think you'll find it was an SBS (Special Boat Service) unit.

That's what I get for reading things after being up for 20 hours. In that case, consider another virtual glass lifted, in the correct direction this time!

Looks like you're right. However, they don't press release SAS or SBS missions.... Call it an educated guess.

Hi Jacked? Oh man. That's awesome wording.

Good for them. What was it this time? Biologicals? Nuclear? Rebranded Iranian shipping vessel?

A rescued Italian ship?

They "hi-jacked" it from pirates.

If the police retrieve you from a kidnapping did they "hi jack" you from your kidnappers?

If it wasent Royal Navy SBS then it was probably the Royal Marines Fleet Protection Group.

Here's a well done and beer on tap to the British military. I have always admired them

Duh...the SBS is part of the Navy.

For the papers to say special forces, it mean it can only be SBS. Yes Royal Marines might have been involved more than likely, but they are not special forces.

That's the educated bit.

ETA: SBS is not really run by the Navy. The special forces are run differently.
